Every landmark, bridge, and community in Canada was built on the dedication of hard-working individuals—many of whom started their journey in a new country. This Labour Day, we celebrate the global talent driving local progress and shaping a stronger economy for everyone. 🇨🇦💼

“IMMIGRATION FRAUD IS NO LONGER JUST A WARNING — PARLIAMENT IS DEMANDING ACTION.”

The CIMM study specifically called for stronger investigation and reporting of suspected international student fraud and non-compliance, following concerns raised by the Auditor General.

When Immigration Enforcement Meets Protest Rights — What Happens Next?

Reports from Calgary indicate that some international student protesters were served with CBSA “Notice to Appear” documents following an enforcement action at a protest site.

A decade ago, I was sitting in Canada as a student, trying to build my future.

I remember the uncertainty. I remember how one immigration decision — or one mistake — could make you question everything you had worked for.

Today, when I see a client facing the same situation, I don’t just see a file number.

I see the student I once was.

I’ve lived that pressure myself. And maybe that’s why helping people fix immigration mistakes feels much more personal to me than just a job.

Because behind every IRCC decision is someone’s life, career, and future.

🔥 PROTEST FOR A WORK PERMIT… GET A STATUS CHECK INSTEAD?

The Calgary incident is raising one uncomfortable question:

What happens when your temporary status expires — and CBSA is watching?

Don’t wait until enforcement becomes your next immigration appointment.

What happened?

Hundreds of international students who completed non-credit diploma programs through Portage College (primarily programs delivered in partnership with the Canadian Institute of Osteopathic Therapy (CIOT)) have recently received Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) refusals from IRCC.

The refusal reason generally states that:

The applicant completed a non-credit program, which does not meet the requirements for a PGWP under Canadian immigration regulations.

After spending thousands of dollars, is this the future international students were promised?

🚨 “You’re out of status. Pack your bags.”
That’s what everyone told our client.

6 months later…

🇨🇦 Permanent Residence Approved.

The difference wasn’t luck. It was the right legal strategy.

Too many people believe that being out of status means the end of their Canadian dream. In many cases, that’s simply not true.

We assessed the case, identified the right pathway, and stood by our client until they became a Canadian Permanent Resident.

Don’t let fear make your immigration decisions. Let strategy do it.

Dear IRCC,

You invited international students to study in Canada.

We paid international tuition, followed the rules, graduated, worked, paid taxes, filled labour shortages, and helped keep businesses running.

Now, many of us are watching our status expire while the goalposts keep moving.

We didn’t ask for shortcuts.

We asked for a fair chance.

A chance to become permanent residents in the country we have already invested our lives in.

Canada doesn’t just need skilled workers.

Canada already has them.

They’re driving your trucks.
They’re caring for your seniors.
They’re serving your communities.
They’re paying your taxes.

They’re just waiting for a future they were promised an opportunity to earn.
