The story of Canada’s “Lucky Loonie” might be one of the best coin stories ever. 🇨🇦🏒🪙

At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Canadian icemaker Trent Evans secretly buried a loonie under centre ice.

Then Canada’s women won gold.

And Canada’s men won gold too, ending a 50-year Olympic hockey gold-medal drought. 🥇🥇

That ordinary one-dollar coin quickly became a Canadian legend, and the story eventually inspired the Royal Canadian Mint’s official Lucky Loonie tradition.

Was the coin actually lucky?

Probably not…

But after TWO gold medals, I wouldn’t have been the guy volunteering to dig it out of the ice. 😂🇨🇦

Did you already know the story of the Lucky Loonie?

One card. Two toonies. 100 years of the Royal Canadian Legion. 🇨🇦🪙

The 2026 Commemorative Collector Keepsake Card includes BOTH versions of the new $2 coin celebrating the 100th Anniversary of The Royal Canadian Legion:

🔴 Colourized version
⚪ Uncolourized version

Both coins feature the Legion’s Royal Crest and honour a century of remembering and supporting Canada’s Veterans, while strengthening communities across the country.

I really like seeing both versions presented side by side in one collector card.

Would you add this one to your collection? 🇨🇦

You can order it directly from the Royal Canadian Mint here:

🥈🚀 SILVER IS AT $90.75 CAD AN OUNCE!

As of September 1, 2026, one ounce of silver is sitting at approximately $90.75 CAD — meaning the silver inside a 1 oz Silver Maple Leaf alone is worth more than $90 at spot. 🇨🇦🪙

For anyone who remembers buying silver at $20, $30 or even $40 an ounce… seeing $90+ silver is pretty wild. 👀

The big question now:

👇 Where do you think silver goes next — $100 CAD or back below $80?

The U.S. Mint changed the Peace Dollar for America’s 250th anniversary… and mine just arrived. 🇺🇸🪙

This 2026 Enhanced Uncirculated Peace Dollar features:

• Special 1776 ~ 2026 dual date
• Liberty Bell “250” privy mark
• .999 fine silver
• Struck at West Point
• Enhanced Uncirculated finish

And the price?

$169 USD. 👀

It’s definitely a premium over the silver value, but the anniversary details make this one pretty interesting.

What do you think?

Worth $169… or too expensive for a modern Peace Dollar?

Canada SHRANK the dollar in 1968… and most people never notice. 👀🇨🇦

The classic Voyageur dollar went from just over 36 mm to just over 32 mm almost overnight.

Why?

Because Canada also changed the metal.

Before 1968, the dollar was struck in 80% silver. In 1968, the Mint switched to nickel, which is much harder to strike, so the coin was made smaller and lighter.

Same iconic Voyageur design. Completely different coin.

💬 Did you know the Canadian dollar changed size in 1968, or is this the first time you’ve noticed it?
