BREAKING: NY SB 3302 Passes the NY Senate 55-8…

Senate Bill 3302, the “Big Five African Trophies Act,” just passed the New York State Senate 55-8 and would ban the importation, transportation, and possession of any part or product of six major African species of wildlife, the African elephant, lion, leopard, black rhinoceros, white rhinoceros, and giraffe.

It is now moving on to the Assembly.

Misguided New York legislators continue attempts to restrict the legal importation of harvested African species from the countries with the largest populations of these species in the world—and that rely on these species to support their well-managed conservation programs.
