So, we’ve developed a solution: a private, revenue-based, risk management solution backed by a major Canadian insurer and it does what no other insurance can do.

Yes — it's true! Even if he's out fishing, he's still going to answer the phone.
Kenton is a Global Ag Risk Solutions advisor based out of Saskatoon, and he has made it his mission to pick up the phone any time a farmer reaches out.

For Kenton, his role is about asking the right questions, understanding the operation, and helping farmers see what their numbers really mean.

🎣 Favourite hobby: Fishing
☎️ Known for: Always picking up.
👟 Shoes of choice: No-lace Skechers
🎯 Advisor style: Straight shooter

At the end of the day, Kenton believes the right plan should do more than protect a crop. It should help farmers make decisions with confidence, manage risk, and focus on the opportunities in front of them.

Not every tough year looks like a disaster.

Sometimes the crop looks decent from the road, but the margin tells a different story.

That’s the challenge with shallow losses. They may not always trigger the coverage producers expect, but they can still affect cash flow, working capital, and next year’s decisions.

“Do I have crop insurance?" ...VS... “What parts of my farm business are actually protected?”

Two very different questions! Make sure you're asking the right ones.

We are proud to be part of HUB International — working alongside a broader network of people who understand Canadian agriculture, crop risk, and the realities farmers face every season.

For farmers, that means stronger support, broader resources, and practical advice to help make sure their coverage is working together.

When the right people, tools, and coverage are connected, farmers can make better decisions for their farm.

We’ve got you!

Well said! This is exactly why it's important to talk about your margin protection plan. Identify your coverage gaps so you can keep making confident decisions for your farm.

80% coverage. It sounds like most of the risk is covered.

But in crop insurance, that number does not mean 80% of every dollar invested in the crop is protected. It generally means a percentage of the average yield, multiplied by an insured price set before the season fully plays out.

This can create a coverage gap, especially when
→ input costs stay high
→ insured prices do not match real market outcomes
→ average yields are pulled down by repeated tough years
→ a claim pays, but not enough to cover the full cost of production

AgriInsurance is an important foundation. But it was never designed to guarantee profitability.

For producers, the question is not only:

“Are we insured?”
It is:
“What risk is still uncovered?”

It’s always great to see our team sharing practical insights in ag.

Tomorrow, our EVP Damon Johnson joins The AI Farm webinar with Growing the Future Productions—sharing how his team is applying AI, technology, and innovation to advance risk management in agriculture.

Come check it out.

Most conversations about AI in agriculture are either too vague or too technical.

This one is neither.

On April 7th Dan is bringing three guests into the room — each one with a single best AI idea that is actually working in their business right now. No theory. No hype. No lengthy demos of tools nobody uses.

Rob Saik. Tim Hammond. Damon Johnson. Three sharp operators across agronomy, real estate, and risk management.

One hour. Your questions welcome.

This is The AI Farm, a brand new live panel from Growing the Future Productions built around one simple idea. Show us what is actually working.
