Heads Up, Central Frontenac!

You may have wondered where that road across from the Library goes, winding its way up Mountain Grove's Freyja Hill. Well once the snow melts you'll find out.

There are 196 acres of spinach growing on the South side of Freyja Hill. The Mountain Grove High Altitude Spinach Farm was carved into the mountain over the last five years, using nothing but hand implements so that the spinach they grow isn't all fouled with gasoline, oil and diesel. Like the spinach that' grown in the valley is.

So get your orders in! 196 acres of spinach will be gone before you know it.

It's been a few years since Brad and Annette Wilkinson opened Municipal Curbside Garbage Collection and business has been pretty slow... ...until NOW!

Brad and Annette have expanded to include ditch and driveway pickup. They had been wondering why all of their customers were on Elizabeth or Garrett Streets because where they come from, in the Big Smoke, *everyone* has a curb.

So if you want your Garbage taken away for you then you NO LONGER have to make everyone pay more taxes FOR YOU! Just hire Municipal Curbside* Garbage Collection and they'll make it just like the suburbs for you.

If you've ever taken the back off a clock to Spring It Ahead for Daylight Savings Time then you know that the insides of a clock are full of tiny gears and springs! Even if it's a new, modern clock it will be full of tiny little microcircuits and whizzing electric motors!

Save yourself the DANGER and frustration of messing around in high voltage electronics or getting your fingers smashed up in whirling gears! Just head over to Gertrude's. She always has (proper) time for you.

You don't have to look any farther that Elizabeth Street or the parking lot at the Caboose Park to see that (perhaps) dozens of people drive to Sharbot Lake most days. That is why the Sharbot Lake Balsa Wood Modelers built Central Frontenac's first electric, high speed Commuter Service Hydroplane.

The next time you are going to busy, downtown Sharbot Lake? Why not leave the car at home and "Fly With Us"?

Do you own a few properties around Crow Lake? Rent them out so that City Folks can have "Nature Experiences" while they party like it's 1999? Well don't forget to charge extra this weekend because the tourists will be knocking down your doors!

That's right, the First Annual, Traditional, Solar Powered Ice Fishing contest *ever* will be on Crow Lake this weekend ONLY and no tourist has to know that there isn't ice on the lake until you have their (non-refundable) deposit. Ka-Ching!

Extortion Alert!

Watch out for this guy and his "Dog Waste Removal" business. This guy has been setting up at Vendor Markets in the Township of Central Frontenac. He'll ask if you have a Dog and if you do then he'll offer to come by and deal with your Dog's crap.

If you say "No" then he'll remind you that it is AGAINST THE LAW to have Dog crap on any property in the township, even if you live on a 200 acre farm.

If you still say, "No" he will file a by-law complaint about the Dog crap on your property.

Either way, if you agree and pay him then he will not clean up after your Dog.

If you see this guy at a Vendors' Market then the best thing to do is to call the Township Office and ask to speak to your councilor. If your councilor will actually speak to you then tell your councilor that By-law 2024-41 needs to be fixed.

That's the only way we can protect ourselves from shenanigans like this.

If you are sick and tired of waiting for a High Speed Railway Station in Central Frontenac that'll only speed you away from home then you'll be glad to meet Ed, owner/engineer of the Central Frontenac Local Trailway.

Ed's train is on rubber tires, so it doesn't need rails and can scoot passengers and freight between most destinations in Central Frontenac. As Ed says, if a road or a trail goes there then it's a station.

So the next time you're heading to Parham to pick up something at Hope's or going over to your drinking buddy's place for the evening? Take it easy when you travel, take Ed's train.

Are you worried that there are only twenty days of Summer left and you haven't had a chance to see Long Lake yet? Lucky for you (and all of us procrastinators), Earl has fired up the Hydrogen Hydroplane to celebrate Long Lake's long, long tradition of September Rapid Water Transit.

Before the farms around the lake were replaced by cottages, September marked the time when Earl's Hydrogen Hydroplane would fly around the lake, picking Children up and taking them to the Old School House on Skull Island. Now, you can relive those days and see the whole lake in less time than it takes to smoke a cigarette.

Earl leaves every fifteen minutes from the Public Beach. Make sure you bring hearing protection, the Hydrogen Hydrofoil is a loud one.
