Infants don't need to be apprehended from hospital. Infants don't need to be taken from their mothers at birth. Infants don't need to be traumatized the moment they are born. Infants don't need to be given to strangers at birth. Infants don't need to line government agencies funding pockets. This can change! Read more here.

Trigger warning: In Winnipeg Today!

Children First Society; We'll be rallying outside of 290 Jarvis Ave, April 18, 2023 @ 1PM

Let's face it, this is still the reality for many indigenous families and it feels like the more families assert their rights, the more these agencies find ways to punish them for speaking up.

We talk about the corruption in the police services and other institutions, but let's talk just as strongly and loudly about how these so called "child protection" agencies are abusing their powers to this very day.

I admire the strength this family has in controlling their emotions and reactions, because let's be honest. If this family reacted in any emotional way it would have been used against them.

Nothing in this video the worker and security gaurd did was legal. Advocates or repersentatives are allowed at all times. If the workers say no they are definitely doing things they are trying to hide. Workers need to disclose reason for apprehending or detaining, with court papers!

FYI most apprehending workers aren't registered social workers, some don't even have degrees, and the federal funding is based on the number of kids in care, not on the number they keep out of care. The financial incentive is to apprehend. The most funding is received for indigenous babies, and children with special needs.

I'm 100% sure they could have found alternatives within the family way before baby was born. None of this had to happen, especially in this way.

We are sending our prayers to this family and their supports from BC.

If you are in the area please join the rally. Everyone please share this, and get the word out and put pressure on that office to do the right thing!

Please come out to support and ask why Winnipeg Region CFS is still partsking in the oractice of Birth Alerts & why it wasn't Anishinaabe Child and Family Services at the hospital? We have rights as parents but CFS, which is a for profit entity, loves to stomp all over them!
