A retaining wall collapse at a Burnaby construction site recently resulted in work being halted while investigations were conducted.

Most importantly, no injuries were reported.

While the cause of the incident has not yet been determined, events like this serve as an important reminder of why hazard identification, inspections, monitoring, and proactive risk management are critical components of every project.

In safety, success is often measured by the incidents that never happen.

Strong safety systems help organizations identify concerns early, document observations, track corrective actions, and support informed decision-making before a situation escalates.
