The cob structure is holding up quite well through its first pei winter. First thing to do in the spring is get its lime plaster coat on the exterior.

If you're interested in learning how to create cob and form it into a structure, We will be working on with cob for the next month or so. Please message the page if interested in volunteering.

The newest project for Eco Homes PEI will be this 16X16 cob structure. This will serve as an example building and a experiment on how well cob structures can do in our climate. ( I believe they can do well if built properly)

The building methods are based on the book: "The Hand-Sculpted House: A Practical and Philosophical Guide to Building a Cob Cottage"

So far the rubble trench has been completed and the first course of foundation stone. Sadly I'm running out of locally sourced sandstone.

I'll be looking for stone sources in central pei for the next 2 weeks. I foresee August will be the month where I'll be needing some volunteers for cob work ( which all ages do) it's an incredibly simple and earthy building material that I genuinely find enjoyable to work with.

I'll try to keep my page updated, I am fairly bad with social media these past years.

First h**pcrete build is calling for volunteers! Its a good opportunity to learn.

Now that we have received all of our materials, we are busy getting organized to finally insulate the walls of our home in New Glasgow, PEI! This is the part where we are humbly seeking friends, family and anyone interested in learning about h**pcrete, to volunteer their time by helping us mix and pack approx 50,000 lbs of h**p, lime, and water into the readied wall cavities. We are well aware this is no small task, and with one of us being 7 months pregnant, we are in need of lots of help! It would be absolutely amazing if we could create teams of 4 or 8 people on the days we are able to mix. Please contact us by either facebook message or by texting Jesse at 506-232-2283 if you are interested in offering a day or two of your time. And if you can’t help at this time, but know of someone who might be interested, please share! We will be working from 8am-5pm on the following days:
