As we reflect on the Pictou County Climate Summit, held May 29-30 at the Pictou County Wellness Centre, we continue to hear inspiring stories from participants across the region. The success of this event would not have been possible without the dedication, expertise, and generosity of so many members of our communities.

Over the course of the weekend, more than 450 people took part in summit activities, including the 10 Tables Dialogue, Climate Social, Saturday's presentations, Exhibitor Showcase, and Songs for the Earth performance.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped bring this event to life.

Thank you to our planning committee, presenters, exhibitors, volunteers, sponsors, artists, and participants for making the Climate Summit such a resounding success. Together, we are building momentum for a more sustainable and resilient future.

Stop by the Pictou County Climate Summit Exhibitor Showcase happening at the Pictou County Wellness Centre from 8:30am-3:30pm on Saturday, May 30 to say hello to our exhibitors and learn more about local climate action and sustainable development.

We will have face painting and a Songs for the Earth Performance featuring Janice and Andrew Alcorn, the Souls Sisters and Northumberland Regional High School Choir from 12pm-1pm in the Sobeys Arena.

There will also be discussions happening upstairs throughout the day starting at 9:30am. Our keynote speaker is Stella Bowles, from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Join us at the Climate Social on Friday, May 29 from 6pm-8pm for an evening of conversation, connection, and live art as part of the Pictou County Climate Summit. 🌿🎨

We’re excited to feature local artists Benoît Paradis and Kyle Ryznar in our Battle of the Artists, where attendees will have the opportunity to watch creativity unfold live throughout the evening.

Originally from Montréal and now based in Pictou, Benoît Paradis brings a unique perspective shaped by a 30-year career in aeronautical design and a lifelong passion for art. Since retiring in 2020, he has become an active and recognized member of the local arts community, with work represented by Art2Sea Gallery in Pictou and 1274 Hollis Gallery in Halifax.

Westville artist Kyle Ryznar has spent the past decade developing an intuitive and expressive style through watercolour painting. Self-taught and inspired by spontaneity, Kyle’s work reflects a creative process driven by instinct and movement. He also created the artwork featured at the glow-in-the-dark mini-putt at Simply Golf on Drummond Road in Westville.

Come celebrate creativity, community, and climate action with us. We can’t wait to see you there!
