🎉 PADS 2026 Shred Day Raises $7,200! 🐾

We are delighted to announce that the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS) Shred Event, held on May 30, raised an incredible $7,700 in support of life-changing assistance dogs! The event saw a fantastic turnout from Burnaby residents who brought their confidential documents for secure onsite shredding while making donations to support PADS and their dogs in training. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this wonderful cause.

UI Recycling was delighted to provide secure onsite shredding services and help make the event a success. We had a great time supporting PADS and connecting with the community.

PADS breeds, raises, and trains fully certified assistance dogs. Their service dogs assist individuals with mobility challenges and PTSD, while their hearing dogs provide greater independence for people with hearing disabilities. PADS also places accredited facility dogs with community professionals—including teachers, RCMP officers, and psychologists—to help foster healthier, more supportive communities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success. Together, we're making a meaningful difference, one shred at a time! 🐕❤️

Urban Impact was thrilled to be back to support RCH Foundation (RCHF) 13th annual Making the Cut Charity Golf Classic. This year's tournament is at the gorgeous Swaneset Bay Resort and Country Club in Pitt Meadows.

The Making the Cut Charity "Golf Classic” is an annual tournament organized by frontline hospital staff and the RCHF to support Operating Room and Trauma Care.

We are excited to be a golf hole sponsor and join a great group of people for a day of golf and community to support the RCHF’s trauma and surgical teams.

Over the last 12 years, RCHF has raised nearly $700,000 at Making the Cut!

As golf ⛳️ hole sponsor, we engaged with golfers with two fun contests.

💚⛳️🦆 How did the ducks cross the greens⁉️😂🤔

At Urban Impact’s Duck Chipping Contest, golfers had the chance to chip 3 ducks into a kiddie pool for a chance to be entered in a draw to win a Chilly Moose Cooler.

Do you know if you have to remove the bottle cap before discarding your container for recycling?♻️

The answer is no! No, bottle caps should generally be left on plastic bottles for recycling. Modern recycling technology and the high demand for the materials that caps are made from (like HDPE and PP) means that caps and bottles can be recycled together efficiently.

Making the Cut Golfers also had the chance to Guess How Many Bottle Caps were in a jar to win a Chilly Moose Bowen Cooler Bag! We love supporting Buy Canadian- Chilly Moose products are proudly made in Canada! 🍁

This year, the theme at Making the Cut was Superheroes & Villains- we loved the costumes!

Thank you to all of the organizers for the time, care and effort that goes into making a day like this happen. And, a big thank you to all the golfers who took part to raise funds for Royal Columbian Hospital’s trauma and surgical teams. Wow, 13 years and counting, of showing up, giving back and showing how the community really cares.

We are already looking forward to next year’s Making the Cut!
