September 30th is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

BBS is honouring this day by:
🧡 Going completely dark with all client work, support, and social media.
🧡 Using this day to reflect on reconciliation and honour those lost by spending time educating ourselves and our children.
🧡 Donating 100% of our masterclass purchase proceeds from September 26th- October 2 to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society.

This is one of the most popular questions I get from clients and on our Q&A’s so I put together a few tips on what to look for!

*Reminder that babies learn to consolidate daytime sleep between 4-6 months which means variable nap length is super common up until 7 months of age! This usually coincides with moving to 2 naps.

If you’ve tried making these changes and naps still aren’t going well, a support call may be all you need!

Being a parent is one of the HARDEST jobs we have and taking the pressure off ourselves of what we “should” do can make a huge difference. I hear from so many parents ALL the time “I know I shouldn’t be doing this” or “ I know I should be doing this”. Here is a reminder that there are no should/should nots in parenting. Your child will be at their best if you are choosing to parent in a way that feels right within you!

Another reminder… A discovery call is just that. It’s a call to get to know each other and find out what it could look like if we worked together. It’s for you to decide if it feels right for you and your babe. I only want to work with parents who feel as though we are aligned, I never want anyone to work with me because they feel they “should”. My goal for a discovery call is for parents to never feel pressured and that we were able to chat open and honestly about the process to see if it’s a good fit! ❤️

Toddlers can be tricky when it comes to bedtime. The key is providing them choice so they can sense some autonomy while still holding boundaries to ensure they feel safe and secure!

This is a super common question I get on my Q&A’s so I have put together some clear signs. Remember to always give your babe 1-2 weeks to make sure these signs aren’t because of something else (developmental leap, sickness). If you are still unsure book a support call where we can go over all the details!

Let me tell you!
1. You have support from other parents going through the same thing at the same time. It’s always nice to feel like you’re not the only one!
2. You get the answers to everyone’s questions- babies will throw curve balls at different times and when you’re in a group you get to hear about what to do in situations that may happen in the future!
3. You get a weekly group call with a BBS consultant to learn about important parts of your baby’s sleep and how to help them!
4. On- going support- After the 4 week training program is done, you still have the other parents to chat/ask questions about things when sleep issues come up!

*Only 4 days left to sign up for this months group coaching. I will be running it starting Monday February 14th!*

Holiday Travel and Sleep!...

1. Don’t Fret! There’s so much stress over the holidays already, try to not let your baby’s sleep be one of them! When parents are going out for the day or away for a couple nights the biggest advice I tell them first is to try and relax about their baby’s sleep! If you have added stress your baby can feel it … and not in a good way. 😉
2. Bring a spot for your baby to nap- This can be a pack n play, stroller, possibly a carrier if your baby is really young. You want to try and have your baby be able to have their naps- they may not be as long or at different times than usual but as long as you give them the opportunity to nap their day and yours will be so much more enjoyable!
3. If staying overnight or placing them in a separate room for a nap, try and create their bedroom - bring their sleep sack unwashed sheets, pjs they have already slept in, white noise and any lovies that they normally have. It may take them a little longer to go down in a new place but give them time!
4. If you are room sharing with your babe overnight and they wake up, try not to react immediately. If you can give them 5-10 mins to try and resettle on their own they will likely go back to sleep! If not get up, do a quick cuddle and put them back down. *Best case scenario for room sharing is having a
5. Finally, lower your expectations- remember that your baby is sleeping in a new, unusual place and expect some extra wakings/protest for the first couple days. Do your best at not completely assisting to sleep but let’s be real if you’re in a house full of people and your baby is protesting you may end up assisting to sleep. Worst case scenario you get home, we jump on a support call and get you all back on track!
ENJOY THE HOLIDAYS!

Daylight savings is almost here!! Don’t fret BBS have you covered!! Save this so you’re feeling confident when those clocks go back next Sunday!

Most important tip in all of this is to grab your coffee first thing in the morning before looking at the time… I will be participating in this as well ☕️ 😉

Anyone else feel this way? I thought it was so early this morning when my kids came into my room at 7AM! … my early riser NEVER sleeps until 7:00!! That is one thing I’m thankful for with these dark mornings! Let’s see if it happens again 🤪

Check out chatting about these fall mornings and sleep on this morning!
