Being the guest always makes me a better host.

I spent the May long weekend as an Airbnb guest for a bachelorette, and it was such a great reminder of what makes a great stay.

When I’m in an Airbnb, I naturally poke around and notice everything.

Here’s what stood out:
-genuinely comfortable beds with white cotton linens
-lots of gathering spaces (inside AND outside)
-simple amenities done well (unlimited firewood, a very well stocked kitchen, and all the supplies we needed)
-proximity to a great restaurant and cafe

The bridal party brought the details, including the banner AND the Pilates teacher, but it reinforced something we think about often at Guest House:
The most memorable stays start with getting the fundamentals right, then layering in thoughtful experiences.

For our bachelorette groups, we offer curated add-ons like private yoga, charcuterie tables, and other local experiences to make the weekend more memorable.

What’s one thing that instantly makes an Airbnb stay better for you?

I’ve come back to these three practices time and time again, and they never fail.

They are free and easy, but make a huge difference.

1. Read 15 pages of any book
2. Journal one page—even just write your name over and over, doodle, or make a list. You’ll be surprised what comes out on paper.
3. Get some morning sunlight, preferably on a walk. If a walk is too much just open your door and get light in your eyes. Don’t ask me the science behind it but it’s good for your brain.

The Fairfield in Crystal Beach is quickly becoming one of our favourites in our management portfolio.

Quiet, cozy, walkable to the beach and downtown, and set up for families.

An underrated feature that this home has: a main floor bedroom with no steps, adjacent to a bathroom—making it a great option for elderly guests or those with mobility concerns.

How is this winery 8 minutes from my house and I’ve never been?!

Our book club met at Nonna’s Cantina last night. An Italian winery in an amazingly massive concrete estate nestled in acres of vineyards. Now, I will absolutely be recommending this spot to guests.

you have a day in Crystal beach, start here:

-grab coffee and a snack before hitting the beach
-wander along Erie Rd towards Derby and shop at
-dinner and a tummy ache that was worth it

It’s easy for us to give recommendations in a town we love. This is *truly* just the tip of the iceberg of the amazing business’ of Crystal Beach!

I spent a recent weekend at . This was my first retreat style getaway—meals, accomodations, and activities are all on the property. We were taught by the amazing , learning and unlearning the patterns of the body.

I took so much away from this weekend. Deep rest. Connection to self and others. The best massage of my life. A slower pace and a lower heart rate.

The Yates Suite • Coming Soon!

We’re working with .designs to bring this historical Airbnb to life. Located on the nicest street in downtown St. Catharine’s, along the Twenty Mile Creek, The Yates Suite will sleep 4 guests in 2 bedrooms. Ft King size bed in the master, bunks, and the cutest second floor balcony. Stones throw from Montebello Park, walking distance to St. Paul St.

Our role right now is project management; working with the designer, owner, and contractors to bring us to the finish line—photoshoot + listing. We will manage the Airbnb once it’s live!

We are accepting waitlist submissions on the Guest House website. Open for bookings late Spring—we’re almost done!!

moving home to Niagara was one of the best decisions I ever made, but recent trips to the city have left me feeling inspired lately.

I love trying new restaurants, checking out new shops, and staying at hotels — literal fires me up! The city has such a buzz of creativity, it’s almost tangible.

Soaking it in and bringing it back to Niagara, hehe.

Ps- room service is my new definition of luxury
