❗️ WARNING ABOUT CANADA’S BILL C-2 (STRONG BORDERS ACT)

As a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant and legal scholar (Ph.D. in Law), I express my deep concern over Canada’s proposed Bill C-2, tabled in Parliament on June 3, 2025. This legislation poses a grave threat not only to asylum seekers and immigrants, but to the principles of justice, due process, privacy, and Canada’s international obligations.

If passed, Bill C-2 will:
•Deny asylum seekers the right to a full hearing, even before their cases are properly assessed;
•Allow the government to terminate or suspend immigration files already in process (inventory) based on vague notions of “public interest”;
•Enable the cancellation or alteration of visas and permanent residency without judicial review;
•Permit the sharing of private immigration information with domestic and international agencies;
•Retroactively affect individuals who entered Canada after June 2020, especially those applying after June 3, 2025;

🔴 These provisions violate:
•The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms;
•The 1951 Refugee Convention and its 1967 Protocol;
•Core international human rights and procedural fairness standards.

📢 Bill C-2 risks enacting a system of arbitrary rejection and silent deportation.

Silence is complicity. We must raise our voices before justice is silenced.
