Canada Risk Solutions offers a curriculum that is hands-on and an interactive course with the objective of teaching how to administer First aid and CPR techniques for individuals who are willing to learn. Participants will learn how to recognize, prevent and respond to situations such as choking, airway and breathing emergencies, cardiovascular emergencies for adults, and prevention of disease transmission.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR): Is a technique utilized to save someone whose heartbeat or breathing has stopped. It may be used in situations such as cardiac arrest, suffocation, and drowning incidents. Additionally, this tool helps to maintain oxygenated blood flowing to ensure the brain and other key organs in the body receive blood supply prior to the heartbeat returning to normal.
Automated External Defibrillators (AED): Is a portable life saving device that is used for Individuals who experience sudden cardiac arrest. AED can also be administered if he/she has a medical condition in which the heart stops beating suddenly and unexpectedly.
First aid is the care offered to someone who has suffered a sudden illness or injury. Administering first aid ranges from something as simple as putting a bandage on a small cut or as complex as assisting a person trapped inside a crumbling establishment. Through this course, participants will gain immense knowledge and become capable and confident in handling chaotic situations that may transpire.
Being highly educated in CPR and First aid is critical when aspiring to a career in security. During the 13-hour duration of this course, security guards will learn about the numerous causes of injuries and how to prevent them to keep those around them safe. Individuals that complete the curriculum must renew every 3 years to maintain certification.
Learning Objectives;
● Roles and responsibilities of a providing first aid. As-well has how to remain calm.
● Casualty management (unresponsiveness, casualty management consciousness with Head/Spinal).
● Adult Resuscitation (CPR, choking and AED).
● Severe bleeding and wound care (step by step guide on how to administer first aid).
● Knowledge of various medical conditions and how to assist accordingly.
● Familiarity of the three levels of burns. (First degree, Second degree and Third degree).
● Good Samaritan Act (what laws are you protected from should anything go wrong while administering first aid).
