Recall Alert: Flammability Hazard:

U Kids has expanded the recall of We Love Cozy children’s pajama sets and lounge pants for violating flammability requirements. The loose-fitting sleepwear can make easy contact with ignition sources and burn rapidly, posing a risk of burn injuries.

Consumers should stop using the recalled products immediately and return them to Urban Kids or Urban Planet for a refund.

⚠️ Did you know Ontario updated its carbon monoxide alarm requirements?

As of January 1, 2026, homes with a fuel-burning appliance, fireplace, or attached garage are required to have carbon monoxide alarms installed on EVERY storey of the home. 🏠🚨

Carbon monoxide is invisible, odourless, and deadly, but working alarms provide an early warning that can save lives.

✅ Test your alarms monthly
✅ Replace batteries as required or when the alarm "chirps"
✅ Check the expiry date on your alarms

🚨 Home Awareness Program 2026 🚨

We are launching our annual Home Awareness Program with a simple goal: meet us at the door and help ensure your home has working smoke/CO alarms.

🚪 Between June–July (Cycle 1) and September–October (Cycle 2), firefighters will be visiting homes across to conduct a brief survey. This helps us better understand current compliance with smoke and carbon monoxide alarm requirements, especially following updated Ontario regulations that came into effect January 1st. These include expanded carbon monoxide (CO) alarm requirements on every storey of the home and outside all sleeping areas in homes with fuel-burning appliances, fireplaces, or attached garages.

👨‍🚒 If we stop by and you’re home, we encourage you to take a moment to speak with us and complete the short survey.

📌 Not home? We’ll leave a door hanger with key information and a QR code linking to fire safety resources.

Look for awareness banners throughout the Town of Oakville as we roll out this public education campaign.

Together, we can strengthen home safety—one door at a time.🚪
