A little bit of exciting news.

After several years growing Presently, our branding and design agency (stay tuned—we have really exciting updates coming soon), I’ve found myself opening the door to speaking again.

I’m offering keynotes and workshops (maybe a retreat or too) that help you rewire how to lead or show up under pressure—sharing practical tools and mindset shifts for navigating adversity, self awareness, and resilience.

Wake Up Kate is back too—with a refreshed site, new signature talks, new content, and updated photos (first shoot in a long time!).

Special shout out to for the beautiful new profile photos—grateful for your talent. :)

If you’ve seen me speak before—or know someone this work could help—I’d be grateful if you shared it.

When you stay truly open—receptive, curious, present—things have a way of unfolding just as they should.

Not because you force them.
But because you're aligned.

Of course, it’s not always easy to stay in that space.
There are moments when doubt creeps in, or the path feels unclear.

And then… something shifts.
You look around and realize: this is exactly where I’m meant to be.

Life has a way of meeting us where we are—with lessons that are both beautiful and difficult.

Wherever you are today, maybe you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. ❤️

Looking ahead is important, but never forget life is happening right now in each present moment, and this matters more than the end result.

It's easy to get drawn into judgement, debate and worry, so take a deep breath, go easy on yourself, and refocus on what matters. Don’t just look to the future—or you'll miss out on life unfolding in front of you.

What do you do to refocus on the things that matter most? ❤️

I used to think success was all about staying the course—just keep going, and it’ll eventually work out. Never mind that the bills are piling up! Just trust you're on the right path.

And while we might be on the right path overall, I’ve learned that sometimes (and it’s not always easy to know when) it might actually be time to move on.

What I’m discovering is: there’s no one right way to do things. The right way is your way—however you choose to do it.

Some entrepreneurs start a business and later shut it down. Some begin with one idea and end up somewhere totally unexpected. Some are multi-passionate and run several businesses at once.

As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned how important it is to define your own terms for success, and stay open to what the universe brings.

The future holds so much potential—if you’re willing to keep evolving and stay curious.

Have you ever pivoted in another direction? And how do you define success? ❤️

Sometimes change can prompt negative reactions because it invites us to get uncomfortable.

It can also be difficult because we feel we should 'just keep going', doing the same thing - for fear, if we change course, it means we've failed in some way.

The funny thing is, whether we're seeking change or not, change is inevitable. It's why I like this reminder of why change is a good thing!

How do you feel about change? What advice would you offer to someone going through a big change right now? ❤️

10 years ago, I launched my first business—a mindfulness consultancy called WakeUpKate—with just a few hundred dollars.

A laptop. A DIY website. A whole lot of figuring it out as I went.

One of the books that helped me take the leap? The $100 Startup by 💡

It reminded me that you don’t need a big budget to get started—just a clear idea and the drive to build something.

These days, with AI and all the tools available, it’s even easier to start something new.

Fast forward 5 years—our second business, Presently, taught us something else: sometimes, you do have to spend money to make money. (More on that soon 😉)

What helped you take that first leap? A book? A friend? I’d love to hear your story👇

For over a decade, my mantra has been simple: Just Start.

It’s been pinned to my inspiration wall, reminding me to take risks, try new things, and keep moving—even when the path isn't clear. That mindset led me to start a speaking career, train at UMASS Medical School, sit silent for 10 days (more than once!), introduce mindfulness into schools and boardrooms, work with Ontario Superior Court Judges—and co-found a branding agency.

It’s a mantra that works for business too. In a fast-moving world, waiting for the perfect moment to launch or shift your brand can hold you back.

Just start.
Experiment.
Put something out there and refine as you go.

The best brands aren’t waiting for perfect—they’re learning by doing.

What’s one small step you could take to ‘just start’ this week? I’d love to hear. 💬

Early on in my career, I had a habit of regularly updating my boss on the businesses I was working on and sharing the challenges we were facing. Until one day, as I walked into his office, he stopped me: “Kate, don’t come to me with your problems; come to me with your solutions.”

I can still feel the weight of those words. From that moment on, I never entered his office again without first deeply thinking through a solution. That shift in mindset changed how I lead, collaborate, and make decisions—less reactive, more intentional.

How has the advice you’ve received shaped your approach to challenges?❤️

Sometimes the best moments happen when we stop following someone else’s path—and start trusting our own.

The most powerful guidance often comes when we quiet the noise in our head, tune into the wisdom we already hold, and follow what feels right.

Sometimes it’s just a nudge—the kind that says, “This way.”

📸 Me, age six—already on my way, even if I didn’t know it yet.

What’s a moment where listening to yourself led you somewhere unexpected?
