I will do a run once I have pre-sold the bales this time. A run is 20 bales, so far 9 are spoken for. How about you? Need any to prep that poor, dry garden for winter?

This homeowner wanted a cut flower garden that looked a bit more intentional so we created a beautiful pathway and used a lot of plants that were already there but just in the wrong place. It's not 100% done, but you can see how different it looks already. Thanks to Setanta Landscapes for the hardscaping help!

August has been full ON, both ups and downs. Persistent drought, wildfires, smoke, volunteering, guests, watering, water meetings, harvesting, processing, planning, generally getting dirty/dusty.

Growing food or any type of garden really connects you to the land, the weather, the biodiversity, the needs of nature and wildlife and that's something we feel the world needs more of. Even though it's been tough to be outside some days this season, having that time for reflection, surrender and acceptance is valuable as well. What did we do that we'd do differently next time? What was within my control and what wasn't? What did I plan vs. what actually happened? How can we do better? What did we learn? So much. These are the conversations we have with our clients and friends and community every day.
Our "why" is building local resilience.

What's on our minds is fire, water, air, people, animals, safety, food, trees, wildlife, solutions. Permaculture is a design system FULL of ways to help you transition to a new, more resilient lifestyle. Having said that, working outdoors in this smoke isn't something we really want to do, but even before the smoke clears, would you like to have some conversations or a consultation with a certified permaculture designer about this?
