This program strengthens employer readiness to recruit, retain, support, mentor, and advance Indigenous talent, grounded in Witset First Nation knowledge, values, and lived experiences.
I’m looking for a focused, reliable, and independent administrative professional who has experience working in Indigenous relations and thrives in culturally respectful, community-driven environments.

Job Posting: Cultural Program Coordinator
Project Description
The Indigenous-led Cultural Training Program for Employers is a strategic initiative led by Kyah Development Corporation (KDC) to strengthen employer readiness in recruiting, retaining, supporting, mentoring, and advancing Indigenous talent.
The program combines Witset First Nations cultural knowledge, community values, and lived experiences into a high-quality training curriculum tailored for KDC partner employers across key industries. Guidance from Elders and Knowledge Holders will be a key part of this work to embed Indigenous knowledge and healing in the workplace.
The Coordinator supports the successful delivery of the Indigenous-led Cultural Competency Training Program for Employers, ensuring the project is organized, culturally respectful, and guided by community-driven priorities. Working closely with the Project Lead, Elders, and employer partners, the coordinator manages day-to-day operations and ensures all program activities honour local protocols, values, and relational approaches.
Location: KDC in the Witset First Nation/Smithers region (remote/hybrid work)
Hours: 32- 35 hours per week
Compensation: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 annual range (commensurate with qualifications)
Term of project: January 2026 to December 2026
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate the scheduling, planning, and delivery of training sessions and employer-engagement activities.
• Manage logistics, including venue bookings, resource preparation, material distribution, and participant communications.
• Maintain project calendars, documentation, communication records, and administrative workflows.
• Support respectful relationship-building with the community, Elders, Knowledge Holders, and cultural advisors.
• Coordinate employer communication and prepare outreach materials that reflect cultural safety and program messaging.
• Ensure engagement activities follow appropriate cultural protocols and community expectations.
• Respond to employer inquiries and provide timely information about training expectations and logistics.
• Maintain accurate project files, attendance data, participant records, and documentation from training sessions.
• Prepare agendas, meeting minutes, action logs, and follow-up communications for internal and external meetings.
• Assist the Project Lead with interim updates, progress reports, evaluation summaries, and reporting to partners or funders.
• Support the development, preparation, and distribution of culturally grounded training materials.
• Provide on-site or virtual support during training sessions, including setup, technology support, and participant assistance.
• Uphold Indigenous values, cultural protocols, and relational approaches across all aspects of the project.
• Ensure communication and decision-making reflect Indigenous-led, community-centred ways of working.
• Help build trust-based, reciprocal relationships with partners, community members, and employer participants.
Qualifications
• Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including culturally appropriate communication practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Indigenous communities, employer organizations, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual meeting platforms.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• An Office Administrative Certificate is an asset
• Respectful, humble, and grounded in relational work.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to community-driven priorities.
• Committed to reconciliation, Indigenous self-determination, and culturally safe learning environments.
• Must have a remote office set up (equipment can be provided)
