Village Electronics Recycling, in conjunction with Video Game Trader is estatic to have donated a computer system, monitors, and a multi-cade unit to the Tom Baker Cancer Center occupational therapy unit.

The computer system and monitors will be used for at home recovery of patients, and the multi-cade will be a very useful tool for patients undergoing occupational therapy.

While gripping a mouse or typing on a keyboard is something many of us take for granted, it is a challenge for some. Seeing the adaptive technologies used to get these people connected to a computer was inspiring.

The Village is happy to help and we look forward to donating electronics again in the future!

Our electronics drive last Saturday, in cooperation with Southcentre Mall, was a resounding success. Of the 0.78 US tons that we received in only two hours, there were twelve serviceable PC and notebook computers. Diverting these twelve devices for re-use not only helps out the community but also represents 576 pounds of chemicals, 6360 pounds of carbon, and 60 tons (!) of potable water saved.
