Private Dayhome in Okotoks with Full-Time Spot, and before and after school care for Good Shepard school Available!

I currently have space available in my well-established, private dayhome in Okotoks.
I’ve been successfully running my private dayhome for 11 years, with 10 years in Calgary and almost 1 year here in Okotoks. I’m a Mum to two children (ages 11 and 17) and my husband and I moved to Canada from England 14 years ago.
I have my certifications for ECE (Early childhood educator) Level 1.
I have my police clearance from the UK for immigration, as well as certifications in Childcare First Aid, CPR, and AED.
Spending time outdoors is one of my biggest passions! We love camping and exploring as a family, and that same adventurous spirit shines through in my dayhome!
I believe in providing a home away from home for every child hense the name of my dayhome "Home away from home" my home truly is a home away from home. My dayhome is filled with love, laughter, and learning, and I treat every child in my care like one of my own.
We love, Arts, crafts, dance parties, yoga, free play, exercise and outdoor exploration which is a huge Part of our day!
We spend plenty of time outside, including trips to The river to throw rocks, The Calgary Farmyard, multiple nearby parks and playgrounds And in the summer, we love to pack a picnic and head to the splash park!
In the colder months we like to hang out at the feild house and library and will somtimes venture into the deep of SE Calgary to hit up some of our old playgroups!
I am fully insured to transport children and drive a vehicle equipped with CSA-approved car seats, ensuring safe and fun adventures beyond the home.
My dayhome is located in a bright, spacious walkout basement with its own private entrance. The space is thoughtfully designed and includes, A large main activity area, a sun-filled playroom, a space-themed nap room (in a separate room to play spaces), a handy kitchenette, well-organized craft & toy storage room And all of this is on one level for safe, easy play and is monitored with Camera's so thatI can have eyes on your child at all times including when they nap!
We also have a huge backyard oasis with, Toys, Pools, A giant sandbox and Lots of shade for sunny days
And yes! we have central A/C to keep cool in the summer!
We are a pet-friendly and non-smoking home.
Our two furry companions are a German Shepherd x Chesapeake Bay Retriever name Bruno and a German Short-Haired Pointer named Fury. They quite remind me of Shrek and Donkey! and now I come to think of it maybe we should have named them Shrek and Donkey! Bruno is the big guy that likes to just lay and chill and he needs quiet time from Fury just like Shrek does with Donkey . And Fury, well he doesnt stop just like Donkey! He loves to keep up with the kids! They are gentle, friendly, and love playing with the kids . They’re never left unsupervised with any child.
I provide healthy, kid-approved meals and snacks, all included in your monthly fees, my meals follow the Canadian Food Guide.
Starting this September, I will be offering before and after school care for Good Shepherd School. Some of my current dayhome children will be starting kindergarten there, making this a perfect fit for families in the area.
I’m proud to say that I have built lasting relationships with the families I have in my dayhome, past and present!
With returning summer care families year upon year, infact Some families still commute daily from Calgary so their children can stay in my care, One family even sold their Calgary home and moved to Okotoks to stay with my dayhome! I have outstanding references available upon interview.
There are many child care centers in town that provide great care for less $ due to the grants, however you can't put a price on the home away from home feeling! If your looking for that home away from home feel and are wanting to gain a second family, another part of your village ( because lets face it, it really doea take a village to raise a child) look no further!
