For the safety of our guests and team, Road 13 Vineyards is temporarily closed.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the wildfires, and we’re grateful to the firefighters and emergency crews working tirelessly to protect our communities.

We’ll be back to sharing wine, hospitality, and good company as soon as it’s safe to do so.

Pull up a chair and take a look across the valley.

That's the Black Sage Bench catching the afternoon sun. Home to Canada's only pocket desert, it's a landscape shaped by arid air, intense sunlight, and mineral-rich soils left behind by ancient glacial deposits.

It's a tough place to grow anything. But that's exactly what makes it special. The long, hot days and rugged conditions help produce the bold, expressive reds Road 13 is known for. Wines with depth, structure, and a strong sense of where they come from.

Two benches, one blend. The 2021 vintage threw everything at us. Early heat, wildfire smoke, and a harvest that came in fast before the season turned. What came out the other side was bright, mineral-driven fruit from Golden Mile Bench meeting the dark, riper character of Black Sage Bench. After 18 months in oak, these bench expressions find their balance in a big, bold red that earned 90 points from WineAlign.

Every place has people who help shape what it becomes. For the South Okanagan, one of those people was John Oliver.

A farmer, politician, builder, and who this town is named after. Oliver helped transform the region through agriculture and irrigation projects that made farming possible across much of the valley. He wrote the Land Settlement Act, helping returning soldiers establish farms and build new lives. Championing workers’ rights, he improved access to education and healthcare, and organized the first provincial election where women could vote in British Columbia.

John Oliver believed in hard work, opportunity, and doing right by people. This BC Day, we’re raising a glass to a Canadian pioneer whose vision helped shape the town we call home.

Born from a cold winter, made for a hot Okanagan summer. The 2023 harvest delivered a smaller crop. What it lacked in volume, it made up for in exceptional concentration.

This 2023 Viognier is balanced, bright, and packed with ripe citrus and pear. We hand-harvested, gently pressed the clusters whole, and let it ferment slow and cool in clay and concrete to let the real fruit shine through. Grab a bottle and settle into the evening.

Four wines that tell you what this season looked like on the land. Seasonal Selections is our reflection at what the South Okanagan has given us, past and present. From glacial soils to relentless sun, every pour shows you exactly where it came from and the hard work it took to get there.

Nothing on these benches comes easy. The vines are challenged by the land, and that's exactly the point.

Black Sage brings intensity: dark fruit, depth, concentration. Golden Mile brings restraint: freshness, structure, a mineral edge shaped by glacial soils. Together, they create a Syrah that's powerful without excess.

Named for John Oliver, a pioneer who helped build the agricultural future of the Okanagan, our newly released 2021 John Oliver Syrah carries that same tireless work ethic. (And it just took home Gold at WineAlign, too.) Available now at the winery and online through the link in bio.
