Le Vieux Pin Winery A majestic old pine tree stands in our vineyard: Le Vieux Pin. It speaks to the earth, rain and the clean, clear air of the Okanagan. www.levieuxpin.ca
(207)

Named for the solitary majestic old growth pine of their Oliver estate, Le Vieux Pin sits perched amidst the famed vineyards of the Black Sage Bench: Canada’s sole pocket desert, located in the South of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. Since releasing their first vintage in 2005, Le Vieux Pin has captured the essence of traditional French winemaking, along with the bold New World character distinct to the region. Considered by the national wine industry to be a leading Syrah producer, the winery uses low input viticulture and non-interventionist winemaking to make exclusive vintages that carry with them a sense of time and place. These fine wines can be savoured nationwide and internationally, at select culinary hot spots, gastronomical institutions and fine wine merchants. The pine tree stands alone. Le Vieux Pin Winery

It was a true honour for Séverine Pinte and Dave Marchand to welcome renowned w**e critic James Suckling, along with Jim Gordon, to Le Vieux Pin during their recent visit to the South Okanagan.

We owe them an apology for one of the rainiest days of the season—but we’d love to welcome them back under our usual blue skies.

We were especially humbled to see our flagship Équinoxe Syrah recognized by James as “one of the best red w**es we tasted from Canada,” alongside his praise for Le Vieux Pin as “one of the South Okanagan names to know for Syrah.”

A sincere thank you to James, Jim, and their team for shining a spotlight on the South Okanagan and the remarkable w**es, vineyards, and people that make this region so special.

Congratulations to our incredible team—this recognition belongs to all of you!

The visit has happened. The reviews are next.

Last week, we were honoured to welcome internationally acclaimed w**e critic James Suckling to Le Vieux Pin as part of his tour through BC w**e country. We are equally grateful for the attention he continues to bring to the remarkable w**es, growers, and w**eries that make the South Okanagan such a special place.

Among the w**es tasted was our flagship 2022 Équinoxe Syrah. While we await official reviews, those familiar with Équinoxe know that quantities rarely last once attention turns to this w**e.

Crafted from multiple vineyard parcels across the South Okanagan, the 2022 Équinoxe Syrah embodies our belief that the whole can be greater than the sum of its parts. Inspired by the great blended Syrahs of the Northern Rhône, it seamlessly balances Old World nuance with New World depth.

More restrained and finely etched than the broader 2020 and 2021 vintages, the 2022 reveals layers of white pepper, wild florals, savoury spice, and subtle game notes. Elegant and approachable today, its impeccable balance and structure promise a long and rewarding evolution in cellar.

For collectors, our Équinoxe Syrah Vertical Collection offers a rare opportunity to compare three exceptional vintages side by side: 2016, 2018, and 2022.

Beat the reviews—and the crowds that may follow.

Équinoxe Chardonnay is shaped by precision at every step — low yields, old vines, a cool microclimate, cool fermentation, and extended ageing sur lie in finely grained French oak. The result is a Chardonnay of depth, texture, and tension, balancing richness with vibrant acidity and a long, refined finish.

The 2023 vintage brings an added sense of presence and generosity, born from an intense growing season and naturally reduced yields. Powerful yet composed, it draws comparisons to some of the finest modern Chardonnays from California, Oregon, and South Africa, while remaining unmistakably rooted in the South Okanagan.

Discover the 2023 Équinoxe Chardonnay exclusively as part of our Spring Équinoxe 4-Pack, paired alongside Équinoxe Merlot — a limited release celebrating two distinct expressions of balance, structure, and place.

For a limited time, enjoy:
• 10% off the 4-Pack (15% for W**e Club Members)
• 15% off a case (20% for Club Members) + Free Shipping

Earlier this week, we witnessed the first budbreak of the season — always an exciting moment in the vineyard.

From this point forward, everything begins with observation. We track each stage of the vine’s growth carefully, not out of routine, but to guide thoughtful decisions in real time — when to act, and just as importantly, when not to.

By understanding exactly where the vine is in its cycle, we reduce unnecessary passes, limit inputs, and respond with precision. The same goes for disease pressure: by observing early and often, we intervene only when needed, as gently as possible.

Over time, these records become something more — a deeper understanding of each block, each season, each subtle shift in climate. It’s how we refine our approach, protect the health of the vineyard, and maintain consistency in the w**es.

Sustainability, for us, isn’t about doing less. It’s about paying closer attention.

It’s quiet work — but it’s the work that matters most.
