Behind the Milestone | Becoming a Licensed Residential Builder
A few weeks ago, we announced an important milestone for Rubble Built. We wanted to take the opportunity to share what goes into earning a Residential Builder Licence in British Columbia.
The licensing process involves much more than completing an application.
As part of our qualifications, we successfully completed the education and examination requirements across seven core competencies, covering construction management, building science, building codes, business operations, financial management, construction law and home warranty obligations.
Beyond education, we were also required to demonstrate qualifying construction management experience, meet BC Housing’s licensing standards and secure acceptance from a home warranty insurance provider.
These requirements are designed to establish a professional standard for residential builders and provide greater confidence to homeowners.
For Rubble Built, achieving this designation represents years of hands-on experience, continued professional development and a commitment to the standards we bring to every project.
