🇨🇦 Provincial Nominees: T13 vs. A75 Work Permits

Received your provincial nomination but your work permit is expiring?

You may have heard about T13 employer-specific work permits and A75 Bridging Open Work Permits.

Both are LMIA-exempt, but their eligibility requirements are different.

✅ T13 may be available with provincial work permit support and qualifying employment.

✅ A75 is available to eligible permanent residence applicants who meet the applicable requirements.

⚠️ An AOR alone does not always establish eligibility for a BOWP, particularly under non-Express Entry PNP streams.

🚨 Ontario has officially redesigned the OINP.

Effective June 25, 2026, Ontario introduced Phase 1 of a major redesign to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.

Here are the key changes:

📌The previous 8 Employer Job Offer streams have been replaced by the new Ontario Workforce Priority Stream.
📌The Expression of Interest (EOI) system has temporarily closed while the new stream is being implemented.
📌Existing EOIs under the former streams that did not receive an invitation will be withdrawn.
📌The new stream includes pathways for TEER 0 to TEER 5 occupations, along with a dedicated pathway for eligible self-employed physicians.
📌Updated language, education, and work experience requirements have been introduced.
📌Rural employers will benefit from more flexible revenue requirements.

Applications already submitted under the former streams will continue to be assessed under the rules that were in effect at the time of submission.

This marks one of the most significant changes to the OINP in recent years, with additional updates expected as Phase 2 of the redesign rolls out.
