Colder weather is coming... a good time to get your hydraulic equipment, fleet, and pressure-wash systems ready.

A practical fall checklist:
• Check hydraulic fluid condition and viscosity
• Inspect hydraulic, air, and breather filters
• Look for moisture, condensation, and restricted airflow
• Review what's due for seasonal service on engines and pumps
• For pressure-wash systems, drain water lines or winterize with compatible antifreeze where applicable
• Stock the fluids, filters, fittings, hoses, and other components you'll need before temperatures drop

A damaged hydraulic cylinder doesn’t always mean buying a new one.

When a cylinder comes into the shop, we inspect the barrel, rod, piston, seals, and mounting points to see what can be saved.

If the barrel is still serviceable, we can hone it, replace the seals, repair or manufacture the rod, and test the cylinder before it goes back to work.

Repair costs can vary depending on the damage, but it can be a practical, cost-effective alternative to buying new: especially on high-value equipment.

A client brought in this hot water pressure washer, saying they had some pressure issues, even after they had the pump replaced by someone recently. They were then told it was unrepairable.
A few issues stood out right away.

The new pump did not properly fit the machine.
There was significant amp draw.
There was a wire that appeared to go to nothing and one burnt off.

After a few hours of diagnostic, and replacing the contactor that was fried, it would only run by manually pushing the contactor.
We found a wiring diagram and there was an extra part on the contactor. After wiring accordingly, the machine ran fine. Burner kicked in no issues, solid pressure, running smooth.
