This year for our Christmas Party we decided to do something a little different and hold a pool tournament. The competition was fierce but in the end only one could win the coveted medal. Thank you everyone for all your hard work this year. 2025 would not have been possible without you.

We held our annual golf tournament this past weekend! ⛳️
Getting together with coworkers outside of the job site is one of the best ways to build lasting bonds - strengthening company culture, boosting morale, and improving production tenfold. A great day on (and off) the course with an even greater team!

Did you know the tolerance for sand below a hockey rink is just 5mm? This is essential to ensure even freezing when making the ice. Precision matters and putting things to grade is our specialty at Mass.

Big thanks to .hall.5492 and crew for another successful slab on grade. With this pour, we’ve now completed three rink installs at the Russell Recreational Complex.

Today we say goodbye to our summer student, Nate!

Over the past few months, he’s jumped right into the excavation world—learning the ropes, working hard, and bringing a positive attitude to the job site. We’re grateful for his effort and energy, and we’re excited to see where his future takes him.

Best of luck with your studies, Nate — you’ll always have a spot in the crew!

A French drain is a trench filled with gravel or rock, or both, with or without a perforated pipe that redirects surface water and groundwater away from an area. The perforated pipe is called a weeping tile. When the pipe is draining, it “weeps”, or exudes liquids. It was named during a time period when drainpipes were made from terracotta tiles.

French drains are primarily used to prevent ground and surface water from penetrating or damaging building foundations and as an alternative to open ditches or storm sewers for streets and highways. Alternatively, French drains may be used to distribute water, such as a septic drain field at the outlet of a typical septic tank sewage treatment system. French drains are also used behind retaining walls to relieve ground water pressure.
