When expectations are muddy, when they are unclear, confusion fills the void.

Being fully transparent, fully clear and fully direct atleast gives people a starting point of what the expectations are.

Leaving loose expectations can create unintended stress and frustration.

I’ve learned this one the hard way recently. As much as living in the grey seems reasonable, sometimes black and white is the only way forward.

Mental health has been a journey for me. Asking for help was a big step several years ago. Therapy isn’t about sitting in your sadness, pain and discomfort. It’s about moving through, wrestling and allowing.
Thankful for a therapist that calls me to be a better husband, better father and better man.

Mosh pits have taught me so much about leadership: fight fair, everyone stops to help anyone falling no matter the reason, if you want to crowd surf you can only do so with a large support network, be yourself- everyone is distracted doing their own thing anyway, don’t complain when you get knocked down- just get up and keep going. I’ve been in a few hundred pits in my life- genuinely one of the safest spaces I’ve ever been.

Congratulations to Mary Pigott on being selected as a new board member!

The musuem works hard to celebrate workers’ history in the Ottawa area.

I was able to share peronsal experiences in construction and speak to the importance of advocating for workers and how the industry is changing in an age where people value different things.

During the Q and A session I was able to speak positively about what the Carpenters’ Regional Council has done for me personally but also how much training and development they are doing for the construction industry as a whole.

Proud to be a blue collar worker.
