Looking for a Risk Management Specialist for our client in Ottawa. This would be a part time 6 month contract.
- Responsible for developing/enhancing and implementing elements of the operational risk framework: risk and control self-assessment, risk assessment for significant initiatives, objective assessment, and production of operational risk reports.
- Accountable for delivering the relevant outcome of our 2020 roadmap.
- Engages with stakeholders, is pragmatic and sustainable from an operational perspective, and recognizes industry best practices
- Anticipates potential challenging objections, considers business maturity and capacity in recommending operational risk management process or service improvements
- Provides complex in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in ORM practices and techniques and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view
- Provides training to ORM team and
- Develop procedures/tool and train the ORM team on how to use the tools
Job Requirement:
- Knowledge of industry practices, regulators expectations – e.g. OSFI
- Undergraduate Degree in Business, Finance or in a related field
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in risk management or related experience in risk management; governance processes and systems within three lines of defence risk management environment, preferably in financial institutions
- Advanced knowledge of risk management principles and methodologies
- Proven record of successful development and implementation of an operational risk management framework
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable and experienced in describing operational risks management methodology to process owners, lines of business, and other control function stakeholders
- Experience in MS Office – MS Powerpoint, Excel, Word
