Let’s Beat Heart and Stroke Disease Together

Heart disease is the second leading cause of death in Canada. Government of Canada statistics state that, of adults over the age of 20, one in twelve have heart disease, and one person dies from heart disease every hour.

Established in 1952, the Heart and Stroke Foundation has been helping in the fight against heart and stroke disease in many ways over the years. Initiatives include funding research that supports breakthrough surgery techniques and medicines to prolong life, education on healthy living to reduces risks, instruction on CPR techniques and increased access to mobile automated external defibrillators to help save lives, and public awareness campaigns to recognize the signs and symptoms of stokes.

The death rate from heart and stoke disease has been lowered significantly over the last 50 years, and many advancements have originated from efforts of the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

This is Heart and Stroke Month. The annual door to door canvassing campaign which occurs this time of year has been suspended because of Covid and is being replaced by a Virtual Canvassing campaign. Your online donation will make a difference.
