Northern Shield Resources Inc. reports assay results from a copper-bearing feldspar porphyry d**e (the “Creston Discovery”), discovered while ground truthing induced polarization geophysical targets at the Company's flagship Root & Cellar Property on the Burin Peninsula of eastern Newfoundland. The Property is being explored for porphyry copper ± molybdenum, gold and tellurium, and for epithermal gold-silver-tellurium. A composite rock sample from the Creston Discovery assayed 0.31% copper, with the mineralization and associated geological characteristics supporting the interpretation of a porphyry copper system.

A second copper-bearing feldspar porphyry d**e was identified approximately 700 metres southwest of the Creston Discovery, featuring visible copper minerals and similar alteration. The Company believes the two occurrences may form part of a broader porphyry system.

Planned next steps include mechanical trenching, additional prospecting and sampling, followed by a proposed maiden drilling program targeting the Creston IP anomaly, the interpreted system at depth and the second copper occurrence. Assay results from the newly sampled area remain pending.

A new S&P Global analysis (Sept 2026) finds although copper demand is accelerating across multiple fronts, the pipeline of new copper deposits continues to thin. As such, the industry is now leaning on expansions of known deposits because genuinely new copper discoveries have slowed to a trickle.

That's the backdrop for our porphyry copper discovery at Creston (Root & Cellar), announced earlier this month: intact, porphyry-hosted copper mineralization in an altered feldspar porphyry, with both IP and magnetics pointing to a much larger body at depth - in a district that has never been systematically explored for porphyry copper.

New copper has to come from somewhere. We think the Burin Peninsula is one of those “somewheres”.

The Burin Peninsula sits at roughly 575 million years - far out on the tail of that curve, well beyond almost every documented alkalic porphyry district, including the world-class Macquarie Arc (Australia) and the Stikine and Quesnel arcs of British Columbia.

That's what makes our recent discovery at Creston so significant. Finding intact, porphyry-hosted copper mineralization in rocks this old is against the odds - and it means the Burin has preserved something the geological record says should be rare. It's also why the district has been overlooked, and why we see a genuine first-mover opportunity in a new, untested porphyry district.

Sometimes it’s right to challenge conventional wisdom.

Our field crews are back on site at the Creston porphyry copper discovery (Root & Cellar), announced last week. The copper-bearing porphyry d**e - hosting the fine-grained bornite-chalcocite mineralization reported last week, in what appears to be a calc-potassic altered feldspar porphyry outcrops over a strike length of ~70 m and is being mapped and chip sampled at regular intervals.

The d**e forms a prominent topographic ridge, identifiable on LiDAR and we'll be prospecting similar features to test whether this is part of a porphyry d**e swarm.

Both IP and magnetics show the d**e is part of a much larger body at depth: a very compelling drill target. Are the hallmarks of a new alkalic copper-gold district are beginning to unfold on the Burin?

Northern Shield Confirms Porphyry Copper Mineralization at Root & Cellar, Newfoundland.

Northern Shield has discovered what it believes is the core of a porphyry copper system at the Creston Target, Root & Cellar. This is the first discovery of true porphyry copper mineralization on the property - and, to our knowledge, on the Burin Peninsula where the copper mineralization is hosted within a porphyry intrusion itself. 3D IP modelling shows IP-1 as a shallow offshoot of the much larger, stronger and deeper IP-2 and IP-3 anomalies - which is why we interpret it as the upper tip of a mineralized alkalic copper porphyry system.

The discovery of fine-grained bornite and chalcocite hosted in epidote and calk-potassic feldspar-porphyry intrusion was made when our field crews were ground truthing the IP anomalies.

Root & Cellar may be the flagship, but Northern Shield's Burin Peninsula portfolio includes multiple additional targets with porphyry copper and epithermal gold potential - strung along the same crustal-scale structural corridors that control alkalic copper-gold districts worldwide, including Australia's Macquarie Arc (Cadia). It's that district-scale land position, and the geological model behind it, that makes the story compelling.

Northern Shield Resources has reported results from the 3D induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey completed at our flagship Root & Cellar property on the Burin Peninsula of eastern Newfoundland.

Interpretation of the results indicates that the magnitude of the chargeability responses at Root & Cellar is consistent with what would be expected from the core of an alkalic porphyry system.

The survey has done exactly what we hoped it would do: it has taken a copper showing we can stand on at surface and demonstrated that it may be the near-surface expression of something considerably larger - extending several hundred metres to depth and to the southeast, and remaining open.

The results provide us with a significantly clearer picture of the system and compelling targets for the next phase of exploration.

The Creston Copper Zone shows the hallmarks of a porphyry-style system, including a nested diatreme complex, copper-molybdenum-tellurium mineralization, and classic pathfinder zoning around the core. This is the kind of geochemical and geological signature that can point to a much larger system at depth.
