This past weekend we had the honour to celebrate the 100th birthday of Colonel Ewa Ponińska-Konopacka VM. 🤍❤️

A life like hers is more than years. It is history, courage, and unwavering devotion to her country. Through the most difficult moments, she showed true bravery, honour, and strength, becoming an example for generations to follow.
We had the opportunity to honour not only her remarkable life, but the legacy she continues to share with us; a living lesson in resilience, dignity, and love for Poland.

During the celebrations, she recieved a presidential distinction from the President of Poland and a promotion to the rank of Colonel. A letter from the Marshal of the Senate was read and she was awarded the PCA Gold Cross (Złoty Krzyż SPK) for a second and third time (a first in our organizations history).

Honouring the spirit of the May 3rd Constitution 🇵🇱
We gathered at Św. Jacek, celebrating alongside our Combatants, Harcerze and Harcerki, and the Polanie and Vistula dance groups. Surrounded by tradition, pride, and community, we remembered the values that continue to unite us as Poles.
The celebration continued at Dom Polski SPK in Ottawa, where students from the Podoski Polish School shared beautiful readings and songs, followed by vibrant performances from Vistula that brought our culture to life.
A day filled with history, unity, and Polish pride. Now and always.
Niech żyje Konstytucja 3 Maja! 🇵🇱

Today we mark the 235th anniversary of the Constitution of May 3rd 🇵🇱
A historic moment that symbolizes democracy, unity, and the pursuit of a stronger nation, the Constitution of 1791 remains one of Poland’s greatest achievements. Its legacy continues to inspire pride, resilience, and a deep connection to Polish identity, honouring the past and the values that still shape the future ❤️🤍

Today we had the opportunity to attend the Polish Flag Raising Ceremony at Ottawa City Hall in honour of Polish Flag Day 🇵🇱
It was such a meaningful experience to come together as a community, celebrate Polish heritage, and reflect on the history, pride, and identity behind the red and white flag. Seeing the flag raised here in Canada was a powerful reminder of unity; not just in Poland, but among Poles around the world.
Grateful to be part of this moment and to celebrate such an important day 🇵🇱❤️

On Tuesday, we gathered in Ottawa to mark Canada’s John Paul II Day with the concert “In the Light of Peace” at Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica, honouring Pope John Paul II and his lasting message of peace. 🕊️
The evening featured outstanding performances, including works by Norbert Palej, brought to life by talented musicians and the Lumina Choir under Yuan Chen.
The event also marked the beginning of celebrations for Lt. Col. Dame Ewa Ponińska-Konopacka (who is depicted in the first photo), a heroine of the Warsaw Uprising, who will soon be celebrating her 100 birthday! An extraordinary milestone making it a meaningful evening of music, reflection, and remembrance.
