Great energy at .o this past weekend. Indigenous fashion, creativity, crafts, and community all in one space.

First up was rocking the runway.

I enjoyed seeing some deadly fashion while hustlin my own deatly prods! Miigwech to everyone who showed up and supported the event!

Always a Drummer first....those beats free my soul 🥁 I don't need much to be happy in life, playing music and drums is one of them!! From hometown garage bands, pit drums in musicals, playing with an old time Jazz band at Café Du Monde / French Quarter, recording with Bob Eagan from Blue Rodeo, recording with my Uncle, family reunion weekend long jam sessions, 3am street drums, RMC Pipes and Drums, Cajon jams to native pool boy, teaching my daughters, to learning Indigenous traditional hand drums.....drums have and always will be my heartbeat—reminding me that as long as I can play, my spirit is free!!

Asemaa: Chi-Migwech for helping me heal since I strapped you in my passenger seat leaving Pow-wow this summer. It wasn't just about growing and keeping you alive, it was about the healing you provided not only to me, but to my bear cubs. We all learned how to care for you. Your flowers were so beautiful, your leaves so plump. I needed some deep healing. Through your sacred medicine my need was fulfilled. You have become Ninsemaa, my to***co. This upcoming year I will respect you and be able to continue the cycle of healing and connection with your processed leaves and seeds. Indinawemaaganidog🪶

I've been wanting this for 2 years now. My Bear cubs were able to watch Papa get his ears pierced. "This is more than to look deadly" I told them. "It's to help papa heal, and connect with our culture and ancestors. To help me on my journey." I'm so excited to be able to wear some deadleh earrings soon!! Awesome job piercing by Miigwech!!

I am so proud to be Ojibwe. I took 30 Sep for myself and my little loves, for healing and reflection. I awoke with my children by my side. Presently, I do not have to worry about the RCMP taking them away by order of the Canadian Government, delivered to abusive people and institutions. Every day I try to honour my ancestors and Indigenous culture, the innocent and brave who have passed, the survivors, their families, and communities still recovering from the residential schools and other indignities put on us. I love my children. I will teach them to be proud of who they are, and to always fight for proper treatment and the well being of all people! Creators guidance and blessings on you all!

Besides providing a means to have healthy, strong, and deadly hair with , it's also about providing support to our young warriors on their journey! Hendrix was given a rough time recently because he had long hair....I was able to speak to him and gift him this book: The Strength Of His Hair, by Charlene Bearhead, published by . I will definitely be ordering more from this informative Indigenous series. Keep on growing that Long Hair, Proud Hair, young warrior!!
