Thank you to The Ottawa Cancer Foundation and TOCF team for joining us and for sharing your stories, perspectives, and the important support available to caregivers. These conversations matter, and we’re grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from your team and continue building awareness through the Women of Calian & Supporters ERG.

So grateful to have our team representing TOCF at a recent conversation hosted by Calian's Women of Calian & Supporters ERG, a thoughtful midday discussion on what caregiver support really looks like, why it belongs in the workplace, and how we can all do better by the people carrying that weight every day.

Sue Merrill, Chief Mission Officer, and Angie Poirier, Director of Communications, were joined by Allison Carroll of Spark University in sharing their perspectives, with Lorraine Prezeau, Senior Executive Assistant and Board Liaison, there to support and represent the TOCF team.

Conversations like this one are exactly how change happens. One honest discussion at a time.

Every March, women and allies from across Canada’s defence and security sectors come together for the Canada Annual Breakfast. Calian was proud to attend this year’s event as a Silver Sponsor, celebrating the women shaping our nation’s defence and security community.

In the spirit of this year’s International Women’s Day theme, Give to Grow, communities like remind us that progress happens when we support, mentor and uplift one another. When women feel seen and valued, it strengthens belonging and the work we do across the sector.

We’re also proud to celebrate Robin Richardson, Calian’s SVP of Marketing and Communications, who received the Remarkable Leader designation for championing women in defence and security.

As the Paralympics continue in Milan, we’re reflecting on how the spirit of the Winter Games recently inspired our own .

In February while the Winter Olympics were kicking off in Italy, Calian colleagues around the world joined in on the spirit of the Games and participated in a couple of friendly challenges that celebrated wellness, connection and a some friendly competition—true to the energy of the Olympic season!

Our Step Count Challenge brought employees across Calian together, logging more than 4 million steps globally. Regardless of the weather—sunshine, rain or snow—they consistently showed up. Congratulations to “medallists” Whitney Peasley (gold), Kevin Kim (silver), and Val Aleyaseen and Neil Gill (tied for bronze).

From soaring cats to laid-back hockey-fan pups, our inaugural Pet Olympics brought out some truly creative and adorable entries. The challenge sparked plenty of laughs and reminded us that sometimes the best teammates have four legs and a tail.

Whether we’re cheering on elite athletes or celebrating small moments of fun together, it’s the enthusiasm of our people that makes so special!

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is “Give To Gain” — but what does that mean? It’s about embracing generosity and the power of reciprocity. When we give our time, mentorship, knowledge, and support, we provide opportunities for women to grow.

For Calian, “Give To Gain” means intentionally sharing opportunity, amplifying diverse voices, and creating space for women to grow and lead. Through initiatives like our women-led ERG, Women of Calian and Supporters, we continue to inspire change and make a lasting impact across our organization and communities.

Today is Employee Appreciation Day, and we’re celebrating the people who make Calian what it is — our team.

From delivering for our customers to supporting one another, our employees help build a culture where people feel valued, connected, and able to bring their full selves to work.

A special thank you to those who lead our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) — employee-driven communities that foster connection, mentorship, and belonging across Calian.

It’s this culture that helped earn Calian recognition by Forbes as one of Canada’s Best Employers three years in a row.

Today we celebrate our team and the community they create every day.

Calian is home to incredible talent—including Olympian Brian Gyetko.

Based in Saskatoon, Brian competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, playing alongside some of tennis’ biggest names.

From the world’s biggest sporting stage to leading complex software projects, Brian demonstrates how the focus, teamwork, and perseverance he developed at the highest level of sport translate into excellence every day.

This month, he’s watching the Winter Olympics with a wave of nostalgia.

“What I look forward to most is hearing the Canadian anthem after a gold medal win,” Brian says. “It’s hard not to shed a tear—it brings back memories of the sacrifices, pushing my body into the ‘pain zone’ every day, and enduring the failures and struggles—all for the dream of going big.”

Big congratulations to our 2025/26 Leadership & Development Program graduates 🎉

Over the last 9 months, this incredible group committed more than 150 hours to learning and growing through Harvard-led curriculum, hands-on workshops, and personalized coaching designed at Calian.

What make this program unique?

✨ Leaders at different stages, roles, and disciplines learning together
✨ A shared commitment to growth, curiosity, and impact

And yes, there was fun too. Participants formed 7 Ice Cream Teams 🍦 and pitched creative business ideas to senior leadership, all focused on accelerating growth and fostering innovation across Calian.
