As some of you know, I am also a Safety Professional and want to share a poem for the Day of Mourning!

"I could have saved a life that day
But I chose to look the other way.
It wasn't that I didn't care,
I had the time and i was there

But I didn't want to seem a fool,
or argue over a safety rule.
I knew he'd done the job before
If I spoke up he might get sore.

The chances didn't seem that bad
I'd done the same, he knew I had,
So I shook my head and walked on by,
He knew the risks as well as I.

He took the chance, I closed an eye,
And with that act, I let him die.
I could have saved a life that day,
But I chose to look the other way.

Now every time I see his wife,
I'll know I should have saved his life.
That guilt is something I must bear,
But it isn't something you need share.

If you see a risk that others take,
That puts their health or life at stake,
The question asked or thing you say
Could help them live another day.

If you see a risk and walk away
Then hope you never have to say,
I could have saved a life that day
But I CHOSE to look the other way"

What motivates you to get up every morning?

Here are a few things that make me get up!

1. My wife - she is my love, my best friend & my rock.

2. My kids - I don't know what I ever did without them. Every morning I hide under the blankets, my wife get my daughter out of her crib and she comes over so I can "scare her" 🥰

3. Golf - ACN has allowed me to work part-time and golf at least 3 days a week. 🏌‍♂️

4. Safety - I love my part-time ob as a Safety Instructor. I love meeting new people and teaching them how to be safe at work so they go home from work with no injuries.

I am extremely grateful for having an incredible partner who supports me in everything I do.
My wife is not just my better half, she's my biggest cheerleader, my sounding board, my best friend. No matter what challenges come our way, she is always there with love and encouragement. I couldn't have come this far without her by my side.
