We are starting to train KC Eclipse; (Rocky Mountain trail horse extraordinaire), to drive at 19 years old. Today was only 3rd long line session and she demonstrated complete poise dragging pool noodles at side and from behind. She is learning voice commands and is getting Walk, whoa, stand. Starting to process trot command.
Then I got the chance to drive Callie, the Welsh Section A mare who lives here. Fabulous fun.

Day 3 of the Darwin's Great 100 Day Challenge has begun. We started the day out by backing out of the stall to Darwin's great consternation and then continuing to back throughout the barn and into the sunshine. Lateral flexes went well and each day of this refresher he continues to soften and advance.
For those of you who don't know, I have a wonderful Rocky Mountain Gelding named Darwin, who is perfect for everyone else, but will buck occassionally with me in the saddle. Who else can relate to the tendency to chose other mounts and to a growing consternation when faced with riding that horse. I've worked myself into a state of nervousness with him and so this is why I've started the 100 day challenge with Darwin. He's great- I need work. So far I've been in the saddle once and it went perfectly fine. As I said- Darwin is great - I need work. Wish me luck!
