This , take a few minutes to develop and practice your fire escape plan together. It could save lives when seconds truly matter.

Older adults may be at greater risk during home fires due to mobility limitations, sensory impairments, or medical needs.

Families can help reduce this risk by creating and practicing a fire escape plan that includes accessibility considerations for the older adults in the household.

On May 11, North Middlesex Fire Chief Scott Jones welcomed the Fire Committee and council members to the Ailsa Craig Fire Station for a tour of the renovated station. As usual, the station was busy even as the evening unfolded and the Fire Chief and his firefighters were pulled away to attend to a call only moments before the tour and meeting. We are thankful for their service and pleased the the space has been updated to provide better conditions for our Volunteer Firefighters.

North Middlesex Fire Department thanks Parkhill Legion for a new FLIR K65 Thermal Imaging Camera. This TIC allows our firefighters to "see" through darkness or smoke to allow our firefighters to make better decisions when directing resources. Thank you for your generosity, Parkhill Legion !

Vehicle Donation Request for Firefighter Training

Our local Fire Department is currently looking for vehicles (cars or trucks) that residents may be getting rid of and would be willing to allow the department to use for training purposes.
These vehicles help firefighters practice important rescue and emergency response techniques that keep our community safe.
Once training is complete, the vehicle can be returned to the owner so it can still be taken to a recycling or scrap facility.

If you have a vehicle you no longer need and would be willing to help support firefighter training, please reach out to [email protected] or leave a message at 519-294-6914 x 3236.

Your donation helps ensure our firefighters are well-prepared when it matters most. 🚒

You’ve asked and we’ve got the answer.
A lot of people are wondering:
“Do I really need a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm on every floor starting January 1?”
Answer: Yes, you do.

Ontario’s updated rule requires CO alarms adjacent to each sleeping area and on each storey of your home if your home has:
✔ a fuel burning appliance
✔ a fireplace
✔ an attached garage
✔ heated air from a fuel burning appliance that is located outside of the home

Why the change?
These changes help keep families safer, especially during winter when CO risks rise.
Stay informed. Stay protected.

Take a minute today to understand the new CO alarm rules: Ontario.ca/COSafety.
