Meet Lucky… though lately, she’s not feeling all that lucky. This sweet and goofy girl is still waiting for her perfect match, and she just can’t figure out why no one has applied for her yet?!

Lucky dreams of a home where she can stretch out in a big, fenced yard, roll around in the warm sunshine, and live her best carefree life.
Her absolute favorite thing? Belly rubs. She’ll happily flop over and remind you when it’s time (which is often, so be prepared!)

Lucky has so much love to give and is just waiting for someone to see how special she really is. Could that someone be you? 🥰

❤️❤️ Merk has been patiently waiting at the shelter for nearly 300 days...Help us find him the perfect home!

This handsome hound has a big heart and an even bigger personality! This sweet guy is looking for a forever home with someone who understands hounds and loves their quirks- especially the musical ones! Merk can be quite the talker and has a lot to say about the world around him. He’s quite sensitive to outside stimuli and does get vocal in response.

Merk is looking for an experienced dog guardian who can help him feel secure and where he can relish in all the attention he needs. A shelter is a tough place for a fella like Merk, everything is a bit much for him at times, and he gets frantic and has a tough time relaxing when his mind is set on something!

Although he can be quite excitable at times, Merk does settle down when things are calm and he is able to show off his affectionate and goofy side- giving you kisses every chance he gets! In a home, he's a whole new hound, and deeply enjoys the time he gets to spend with you. He loves to stand and lean against you while receiving butt rubs, and doesn't want you to stop! Merk really enjoys squeaky toys, spiky balls are his favorite, and he will happily run after them and squeak them to his heart’s content!

If you’re a hound savvy human who has room in your heart and home for one deserving dog, Merk may be the fella for you!

🌿 A Healthy Green Lawn Does More Than Look Good 🌿

✅ Boosts property value
Studies show that well maintained landscaping can increase a home’s value by 5%–15% or more, with basic lawn care delivering one of the highest returns on investment in real estate.

✅ Produces oxygen & cleans the air
A healthy 5,000 sq. ft. lawn can produce enough oxygen each day for 14–34 people, helping improve local air quality through natural photosynthesis.

✅ Naturally calming & stress reducing
Research shows that time around green spaces lowers stress, improves mood, and supports mental health—even 15 minutes in nature can make a measurable difference.

✅ Creates cooler, more livable outdoor spaces
Healthy turf absorbs heat and reduces surface temperatures compared to bare soil or pavement, making yards more comfortable for families and pets.
A green lawn isn’t just curb appeal—it’s health, comfort, and long term value rooted right outside your door. 🌱

🌱 Why You Should Treat Moss in Your Lawn — and When! 🌱

Moss thrives when grass can’t — usually because of shade, compacted soil, poor drainage, low nutrients, or mowing too short.

✨ Why treat it?
Because removing moss helps your grass reclaim space and grow thicker, stronger, and healthier. Left alone, moss spreads fast and crowds out turf, leaving thin, patchy areas behind.

⏰ When to treat moss:
Treat moss when daytime temperatures are consistently above 10°C but still cool enough for grass to grow well. These conditions help moss control products work effectively and allow your lawn to recover quickly.

💡 Pro tip: Treating moss is only half the battle. Solving the cause improving drainage, aerating compacted soil, raising mowing height, or correcting pH issues, keeps moss from returning.

Want a greener, healthier lawn? Start with moss control — your grass will thank you! 🙌🌿

🌱 Great Lawn Care Isn’t Just About What You Do — It’s When You Do It.
As we near the start of the 2026 Lawn Care Season, just a reminder that when it comes to keeping your lawn lush, green, and healthy, timing, weather, and temperature are everything. Here’s why:
⏱️ Timing Matters
From fertilizing to overseeding to w**d control, each service works best at specific points in the season. Hitting those windows means stronger roots, better growth, and fewer problems down the road.
🌦️ Weather Sets the Stage
Rain, sun, humidity, and even wind can make or break a treatment. Applying products at the wrong time can wash them away, reduce effectiveness, or even stress your lawn.
🌡️ Temperature Drives Results
Grass growth, w**d activity, and even insect behavior are all temperature-dependent. The right treatment at the right temperature = maximum impact.
🌿 The result? A healthier, greener lawn with fewer issues and better long-term success.
Professional lawn care isn’t just about applying products — it’s about understanding how nature works and timing every service to align with it.

Thinking about aerating your lawn this year? Great — but here’s the part most people miss:

👉 Aeration is only effective when grass is ACTIVELY growing. Getting a early start doesn't provide much if any benefit if your lawn doesn't respond to the process.

💚 Spring — ideal
Your lawn is waking up and actively growing, a perfect time to add air into the soil to promote root health and strong spring growth

💚 Early Fall — also ideal
Aerate before grass slows down for winter.

🚫 Avoid Aerating in Saturated Soil
When soil is too wet, the aerator smears and compresses the soil instead of pulling clean plugs — which can make compaction worse instead of better.
Moist soil is good. Saturated soil = poor results.

🚫 Avoid Summer & Winter

🌿 When timed right, aeration:
• Relieves compaction
• Improves air + water flow
• Encourages deeper roots
• Boosts overseeding success

✅ Bottom line:
Aerate in spring when grass is actively growing or in early fall before growth slows — and only when soil is moist, not soggy.
