🔥 Yard Fire Response in the RM

Earlier this evening, the Pense Volunteer Fire Department responded to a yard fire.

Ten members responded, and with the help of some great neighbors providing plenty of water, our crews were able to make quick work of the fire and get it safely under control.

A big thank you to the neighbors who jumped in to help! 👨‍🚒🚒

🚒 A HUGE THANK YOU TO GLOBALMEDIC! 🚒

The Pense District Volunteer Fire Department would like to sincerely thank the David McAntony Gibson Foundation GlobalMedic for their generous donation of a Wildland Fire Skid Unit!

This new equipment will greatly enhance our ability to respond quickly to grass fires, wildland incidents, and other emergencies throughout our district.

For a volunteer department, support like this makes a tremendous difference. This skid will be an important tool in helping us protect our communities, property, and neighbours for years to come.

From all of us at Pense Fire — THANK YOU, GLOBALMEDIC! ❤️🚒

This morning at approximately 7:00 AM, Pense Volunteer Fire Department and Mosaic Emergency Services responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a train.

This incident serves as an important reminder that trains cannot stop quickly and always have the right-of-way at railway crossings. Please obey all crossing signals, never attempt to drive around lowered crossing arms, and always look and listen for approaching trains.

A few extra seconds of caution can save lives.

Stay alert. Stay safe. Respect the rails.

Much of Saskatchewan is currently under an extreme fire conditions. Dry conditions and wind can cause fires to spread rapidly in a very short amount of time.

Please use increased caution when:
• Operating machinery or equipment
• Burning brush or having campfires
• Discarding ci******es
• Driving or parking in tall dry grass

One small spark can quickly become a major wildfire. Help protect our community, farms, homes, and emergency responders by staying alert and following all local fire restrictions.

If you see smoke or fire, report it immediately.

Stay safe,
PVFD 🚒
