This morning at approximately 7:00 AM, Pense Volunteer Fire Department and Mosaic Emergency Services responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a train.

This incident serves as an important reminder that trains cannot stop quickly and always have the right-of-way at railway crossings. Please obey all crossing signals, never attempt to drive around lowered crossing arms, and always look and listen for approaching trains.

A few extra seconds of caution can save lives.

Stay alert. Stay safe. Respect the rails.

Much of Saskatchewan is currently under an extreme fire conditions. Dry conditions and wind can cause fires to spread rapidly in a very short amount of time.

Please use increased caution when:
• Operating machinery or equipment
• Burning brush or having campfires
• Discarding ci******es
• Driving or parking in tall dry grass

One small spark can quickly become a major wildfire. Help protect our community, farms, homes, and emergency responders by staying alert and following all local fire restrictions.

If you see smoke or fire, report it immediately.

PVFD is currently on scene responding to a semi-truck fire approximately 1 km east of Pense. One westbound lane is affected.
