At the Business Advisory Centre we are your partner in business success!

We’re here to make launching, growing and scaling your business easier. Whether you’re just starting out, looking to grow, or preparing for your next big step, our team offers ongoing, one-on-one free support, tailored to your unique needs.

Your journey begins with a 15-minute intake meeting with our Entrepreneurship Officer, Allison Adam. In this session, Allison will get to know you, your business, your challenges, and your goals, and determine the next steps that will best support your success.

From there, you’ll receive:

• Resources and recommendations to help you move forward
• Tailored advice for your business challenges and opportunities
• Introductions to our in-house experts

Last call for Starter Company Plus 2026 Applications!

With Starter Company Plus, you are not just getting support, you are stepping into a world of opportunities!

Who Should Apply?

• Anyone aged 18 and over who is out of school and interested in pursuing a career in entrepreneurship

• Anyone interested in starting a new business, expanding, or purchasing an existing business that has been operating for five years or less within the City of Peterborough and Peterborough County

What you receive:

- Get personalized one-on-one guidance from a seasoned business advisor who is ready to supercharge your business journey
- Immerse yourself in dynamic workshops and networking events that cover everything from building a strong business plan to mastering budget strategies and launching impactful marketing campaigns
- Connect with advisors who bring real world experience in starting, expanding, or buying a small business
- And that is not all. You could also receive a grant of up to $5,000 to fuel your entrepreneurial dreams.

Meaningful conversations lead to stronger communities. Yesterday, we were honoured to welcome the Associate Minister of Small Business Nina Tangri to Community Futures Peterborough for a roundtable discussion with local female business owners.

Alongside MPP Dave Smith Dave Smith and the Downtown Business Improvement Area (DBIA) Peterborough DBIA, we spent the afternoon listening to the experiences, challenges, and opportunities facing female business owners in our region. Their insights, resilience, and innovation are helping shape a stronger future for small business in City of Peterborough and Peterborough County.

Summer Soul Wellness officially celebrated the opening of its second Peterborough location today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking another milestone for the locally owned family business dedicated to making wellness more accessible across the community.

The celebration, held at the studio’s new home at 701 The Queensway, welcomed community members, local leaders, and business supporters for tours of the new boutique wellness space, reformer Pilates demonstrations, and a look inside the studio’s growing range of yoga, mat Pilates, and strength-based wellness programming.

Summer Soul | Reformer & Yoga Studio is a graduate of the Starter Company Plus program as well as a Community Futures Peterborough client!
