A little Monday motivation to kick off the week!

This closet went from cluttered to couture! 🧥

I had so much fun helping this busy and stylish mom with this closet glow up!

In this session, the client and I went through all of her clothing in her closet as well as her drawers. She said goodbye to anything that didn’t spark joy, no longer fit or was damaged/stained and we donated any of her ‘toss’ items still in good condition. After that was done, I hung her items into sections based on her lifestyle (workout/active wear, work clothing and dressy pieces) then colour coded them for easy access.

Bonus: we used all of her own hangers AND even had time to go through all of her son’s clothing and drawers!

Tips:

✔️ For small closets, utilize vertical space with hooks or behind the door organizers
✔️ Matching hangers is the fastest and most effective way to create an organized closet
✔️ Wooden hangers are best for heavier, bulkier items and work great for coat or entryway closets
✔️ Skip the wire hangers and go for the velvet ‘non-slip’ coated hangers. They’re perfect for lightweight and delicate pieces, such as camisoles and blouses

As we start a new week, I just want to share a friendly reminder that you got this! And part of that may look like asking for help when things are feeling a bit too heavy, and that’s a-ok! ❤️

Today, I am excited to be working with a new client, a mom of two little ones who recently moved into a new home. We will be unpacking and organizing a few spaces, and I can’t wait to help make her house into a home as she starts this new chapter.

Now that the kiddos are back at school, it’s a great time to tackle those problem areas, get organized and set up some new systems!

UPDATED - Durham friends! Check out this great new initiative organized by the Region of Durham.

The Curbside Giveaway, happening on September 16, is a perfect reason to start decluttering your unwanted items (in good condition!) for someone else to enjoy.

🪑🖼️ Curbside Giveaway Day is a pilot project event organized in cooperation with the local municipalities, where residents in participating municipalities place unwanted items in good condition-clearly marked FREE-on their curb for anyone to pick up. At the end of the Giveaway Day, residents return unclaimed items to their home. This is a great opportunity to declutter and find a new home for your unwanted items, while also picking up something you may want or need for free. 🗑️🪞
