Thank you to the Harmony Hill Retirement Community team for inviting CHUCK-IT Removal Services to be part of another wonderful Harmony on the Horizon event.

It was a pleasure meeting so many future residents and their families, answering questions, and talking about ways to make downsizing and moving feel a little less overwhelming.

A move is about much more than packing boxes. It's about the next chapter. Having trusted professionals working together can make that transition much easier.

Greatful to share the stage with Corina Goss Realtor from Royal Heritage Realty, Sandra from Organizing Lives, and Ann, who shared her personal experience as a Harmony Hill resident.

Some days remind you why you started.

Yesterday, CHUCK-IT was honoured to receive the Tammy Rankin Award from the Durham Elder Abuse Network (DEAN). Hearing the committee speak about our team was one of the proudest moments we've experienced.

They shared that CHUCK-IT is often the call they make when an older adult needs help downsizing, moving, dealing with extreme hoarding, or furnishing a new home. Knowing they trust us to treat every person with dignity and respect means everything.

Many of these acts of kindness happen through our Durham Community Closet program, where donated furniture and household items are provided at no cost to individuals and families starting over.

360 families served! 💪🏼❤️

This week we completed our 360th donation through our inhouse donation program Durham Community Closet.

This program is only possible because of the support of our CHUCK-IT clients.

Our clients hire us for junk removal, moving, and demolition services throughout Durham Region and the GTA. During those jobs, when we come across furniture and household items still in good condition, we take the extra time to sort, save, store, and donate those items back into the community to people in need.

Through local agency and community partner referrals, these items are then provided 100% free to families and individuals in need.

This has resulted in:
• 360 families supported
• Thousands of pieces of furniture donated
• Thousands of pounds diverted from landfills

This program was built through community, hustle, and heart and we are incredibly proud of what it has become.
