This is how it should be done.
A business came into our store today and told us something weβll never forget: itβs their company policy to support local first, before turning to Amazon or a big corporation.
Company policy. Not a nice idea, not a βwhen itβs convenient.β A rule they live by.
Thatβs the mindset we believe in, and itβs what we think most businesses should do. Imagine if every business in Ponoka and Central Alberta made the same commitment. Ask a local business first. Give them the chance to earn the order. If they canβt help, then look further.
It doesnβt have to cost more or be less convenient. It just starts with asking. And when local businesses buy from each other, those dollars stay here, supporting the teams, the fundraisers, and the families who make this community home.
To the business who stopped in today, thank you. Youβre setting the example, and we hope others follow. π
Whatβs your businessβs policy? If you donβt have one yet, nowβs a great time to start.
Keep it local. Keep it Canadian. π
