I've just learned it's International Dog Day! We were so lucky to have had Carlos in our lives for 13 of his 14 years, with his last 8 years spent everyday with me on the fuel dock. We now have Aero, and she's an absolute sweetheart and has filled the large shoes that Carlos left. We couldn't imagine the place without them...

As some of you knew, we didn't have gasoline available for most of the day yesterday due to supply challenges.

A component of the truck loading system at the terminal in Nanaimo, where our fuel comes from broke down on Monday and trucks were unable to load certain fuels.

Once the problem was determined to be a longer term repair issue, our supplier worked hard to source fuel from a south island facility for us and other affected fuel docks.

I want to thank the team at Enex Fuels for their hard work to get us back up and running as fast as was possible.

We're back up and running again now, but I want to say thank you to everyone that came by looking for fuel and was understanding of the situation. Your support means the world to us.

While this storm cell didn't come with lightning yesterday afternoon in and around Port Alberni, it did strike afew times between Nanaimo Lakes and Mt. Arrowsmith. There's still lightning in the forecast for this afternoon and maybe tomorrow. If we get any nearby, enjoy the show from a safe place and then be vigilant for any smoke columns for several days afterwards.

It is commercial tuna fishing season and we're always grateful for the local and visiting fleet that comes in.
