Our Story
We started planting grapes in 1999, taking into consideration our hot summer climate, soils and exposure. With 20 acres available, approximately 12 acres are currently planted, with the remainder of the property being left treed. With the natural, unaltered soils being a good combination of clay, gravel, sand and dirt, we started by planting Schonberger grapes, followed by the Madeline Angevine. As we do not irrigate, drought was a problem early on, as were the deer. We persevered and have since added Pinot Gris, Reichensteiner, Pinot Nior, Dornfelder, Marechal Foch, Siegerrebe and Gamay grapes to the vineyard. The building of the wine shop began in January 2009 and opened its doors in October 2009. The Wine Shop currently offers 9 different types of white wines, 4 types of red wines, 2 blush wines and 3 summer berry ports. Our wine is only available through our wine shop and through shipping. Please enquire by email or phone about our shipment options. The wine shop is handicap accessible.
