Some aluminum work from the last couple days.

Roof mounting solution.

New cleats.

And a few other odds and ends straightening parts and filling holes to get this customer back on the water for monday.

I had to finish it today because I will be back out to the bush for more lineboring tomorrow and most likely all weekend.

Aluminum bow/hull repair for a local.

It is very important to back gouge aluminum butt joints or they will crack out like this from the gap creating a stress point.

No back gouge and weld impurities was the culprit in this case.

Old boat aluminum can be the worst to repair because of all the oxides and impurities and it becomes even worse when a gap is left between welds wich traps even more oxides and impurities.

It was a little dirty but we got it all fixed up.

This project started as an idea in my head and has now progressed from a 3D drawing to a physical object.

It's amazing what you can do with a little skill and lots of hard work.

Still another 40 hours to go with finishing the welding, sand blasting, powder coating, and installing the sensors and fog lights, but the main structure is finally fleshed out and I am pretty happy with how it turned out.
