Tikka T3X - Barrel is too lightly contoured for the 5/8-24 threads of the Recoil Hawg customer wanted fitted, and turning for the 1/2-28 threaded bushing would leave the barrel walls too thin.

Solution - turn for 9/16-24 threads, use a custom-fabricated stainless reducer to both bring it up to 5/8-24 and serve as a positive shoulder to index on.

Damaged magazine tube on a Henry 44-70. Removed the bluing, fabricated a solid brass mandrel/heat sink, and TIG welded to repair.

Draw-filed and sanded smooth to an invisible repair. Once reblued will be good as new.

Cut-down 20 gauge had been left with the barrel gap open, and the muzzles were badly chewed up. It had only been cut a couple inches, most likely due to damage.

First I squared the muzzles (should have take a "before" pic, I know), fabricated and fitted a TINY steel hourglass, and silver soldered it into place.

Light chamfer, hone, and ready to start prepping barrels for bluing.

Cosmoline...."Milsurp Molasses".... "Gun Honey"... The bane of many a proud new owner of a piece of history.

"Gud e'nuf" is not good enough when it comes to getting rid of it. Its in every important nook and cranny (what it was designed to do), including firing pins and extractors.

Start shooting without getting rid of it and see how quickly you bring it to a 'smith.

Damage to fairly new Savage .270 chamber, with enough metal displaced to prevent extraction entirely. Faced off barrel, recut chamber to spec. Chamfered, honed and ready to headspace.

Catastrophic damage to customer's M3000 Stoeger. Still trying to piece together the story of what happened, but appears to have fired out-of-battery. Sheared off locking lug, damaged chamber, carrier, and ejector. Quite a mess!

The mainspring and bridle on my father's 70's-era Pedersoli Kentucky rifle packed it in, and a fitting an entire new lock was unfortunately the most reasonable solution.

Some minor wood inletting was required, as was alignment of the plate screws and the hammer to the ni**le. I think this rifle means more to Dad than any other, and he'll be "making smoke" this weekend, no doubt!

Another rescue ready to go. This TOZ was left cased, rusting and putting it. After a bunch of file and emery cloth work, the rust-bluing starts.

Remember kids, cases are for transporting not storing!

The only time rust is welcome is when it's intentional!

Slow-rust blued High Standard 107 Military barrel. After metal prep, went through 7 cycles of rusting, boiling and carding.
