Permits are in, armour stone is arriving, and we were busy unloading the first blocks into the yard this morning.

We’re incredibly proud to share something pretty special for Landex Earthworks and our community.

For the next five years, the South Dundas Adult Soccer League trophy will carry the name:

We’ve always believed that being a local business means more than simply working in the community. It means being part of it and supporting the organizations that bring people together.

From overgrown ditch to usable yard… what a transformation! 🌱🚜

Most people see the finished product. We wanted to show everything that went into getting there.

This project started with two neighbouring properties that shared the same challenge, a very wide, deep ditch that had become completely overgrown with trees, brush and years of vegetation.

Our crew began by clearing the entire area to expose the ditch before excavating it to the proper grade. We then installed a compacted gravel foundation to provide a stable base for the culvert, ensuring it stays exactly where it belongs for many years to come, even through our climates harsh freeze-thaw cycles.

With the main culvert in place, we installed surface drains to maintain proper drainage after the ditch was filled. Every lift of backfill was carefully placed and compacted to minimize future settlement before the area was brought up to final grade.

To finish things off, we spread 6 inches of screened topsoil, completed the final grading and seeded the entire area, leaving both properties ready to grow into one seamless, maintenance-free lawn.

One of the biggest advantages of this project was completing both neighbours’ ditches at the same time. By mobilizing our equipment once, sharing trucking and materials, and completing the work as one project, we were able to provide substantial cost savings to both homeowners while making the process far more efficient.

Some people see a hole in the ground… we see a work of art. 😎

Today we wrapped up another garage excavation for our friends at Cochrane Construction & Renovation LTD., and we’d be lying if we said we weren’t a little proud of this one.

A big shoutout to our operator Dan, who absolutely nailed it. An excavation that’s dead flat and perfectly level makes everyone’s life easier! From the foundation crew to every trade that follows. Less fixing, less fussing, and more getting the job done.

We also cut a set of steps into the bank to give everyone easy access in and out of the excavation. Your knees will thank us later!

It’s the little things that make a big difference, and we take pride in leaving every site ready for the next crew.

Another great transformation completed by the Landex Earthworks crew! 👊

For this project, we resurfaced an existing driveway, added a new parking area for a camper, and created a circular base for a backyard fire pit area.

One of the biggest advantages of using our skid steer-mounted landscape rake is that it allows us to properly rework the existing driveway surface rather than simply dumping gravel into potholes and low spots. By cutting out washboards, bumps, and depressions and re-establishing the proper grade, we create a smoother, longer-lasting finish while reducing the amount of new material required. In many cases, we can reuse much of the existing gravel, saving our clients money and delivering a better end result.

A big thank you to our clients for trusting us with their project, and a huge shoutout to our crew for another quality job completed. Your attention to detail and pride in your work never go unnoticed.

Back to put the finishing touches on this project!

After completing the armour stone work, our crew returned to install the interlocking stone features that really brought the project together. We added a new side walkway for easy garage access, a durable interlock garage approach apron, and a welcoming front entrance. To finish it off, we built a small retaining wall around the existing light fixture for a clean, finished look.

A big thank you to our clients for their trust throughout the project, and an even bigger thank you to our crew for another job well done. The attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and long hours they put into every project are what make results like this possible.
