Timber Wolves aka Dirty Dawgs🐺

After fleshing and salting the next step in tanning is rehydrating and washing 🫧🛁

Washing out the globular proteins is essential so they are not trapped inside the leather when going into the acid bath.

💦This requires a lot of water 💦

I rinse until the water runs clear and the result is a soft clean hide that doesn’t smell like a dirty dawg 👌

Canadian Moose Hide 🇨🇦🫎

This moose hide is massive! It will be a beautiful addition to a family home 🌟

I respect the elders before me who had to scrape their hides by hand 🙌🏻

I kept some hide from the moose we harvested this year to continue my learning and make moccasins. I would love some ideas.

After fleshing a moose a cow seems like light work 😅

Another busy week 😎 a pair of beaver mitts heading to South Carolina 🦫 a few more euros, oiling bears and sheep are tanning up nice 🐑

Friday already! It’s been a busy week🌟 Quick turnaround on some euros for folks travelling and got into it with some heavy hides 💪

Tanning all sorts of critters; lambs, wolves, coyotes, fox, lynx, bears and bunnies 😅 It’s been awhile since I processed K9’s but time to clean out the trapping freezer 😅 oh and there is always more beavers 🦫🦫🦫🦫
