This week Local 1372 members and Alumi gathered for our annual golf tournament. Thanks to everyone that came out and made this another great event.

As part of the tournament, Local 1372 members also made a contribution to the PG Firefighters Charitable Society to help support causes inside our community.

This past weekend, several off-duty Prince George firefighters & Dispatchers traveled to Kelowna to take part in the annual Kelowna Firefighters Charitable Society Slo-Pitch Tournament.

The tournament brings together firefighters from across British Columbia for a weekend of friendly competition, camaraderie, and community support. More importantly, the event helps raise funds for important causes, including the BC Professional Firefighters Burn Fund and the Kelowna Firefighters Charitable Society, supporting programs and initiatives that make a meaningful difference in the lives of those they serve.

We are always proud to support the charitable efforts of our fellow fire departments and the incredible work their charitable societies do throughout the province.

Thank you to the Kelowna Firefighters for hosting another outstanding tournament.

We were proud to take part, support a great cause, and represent Prince George both on and off the field.

Through the Prince George Firefighters Charitable Society, we support individuals and families facing hardship, assist local health and medical initiatives, help provide necessities to those in need, and contribute to organizations that make a lasting difference in our community.

From supporting families during difficult times to helping improve health care and community wellbeing, our mission is simple: serve the community both on and off duty.

For more than a century, Prince George Fire Fighters have proudly served this community — answering the call through fires, medical emergencies, rescues, dispatching, and moments when people need help most.

Since becoming affiliated with the International Association of Fire Fighters as Local 1372 in 1960, we have remained committed to professionalism, public service, and standing together in support of those who serve our city.

But being a firefighter means more than emergency response.

Beyond the call, our members are involved throughout the community — supporting local initiatives, charitable efforts, public education, fundraising, and events that strengthen the city we are proud to call home.

This week Prince george’s own Todd Doherty met with Health Canada today to discuss Bill C-233. What is Bill C-233 you say? This bill proposes that Judges will be able to impose stiffer penalties against anyone who assaults nurses, doctors, paramedics, firefighters, and correctional officers while they are on the job.

Thanks to all who are involved in helping move this bill forward as well as our fellow first responders that work with us and help keep us safe while serving our community.

Today is International Firefighters’ Day, and at Kitimat Fire & Ambulance, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what it means to serve this community.

Being a firefighter is about more than just answering the call; it’s about the person standing to your left and right, the families who support us from home, and the neighbors who trust us on their toughest days.

From the industrial heart of the valley to the residential streets of our community, the members of IAFF Local 1304 are honored to stand watch 24/7. Whether we are responding to a fire or providing critical medical care, our commitment to the safety of Kitimat remains our highest priority.
