Central Display is proud to be supporting the Saulteau First Nations All Departments Open House, taking place June 12 at the Saulteau First Nations Cultural Centre in Moberly Lake.

This community event provides an opportunity for members to connect with staff from all departments, learn about available programs and services, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of the work being done to support Saulteau First Nations members and families.

Central Display provided the trade show booths that help create an organized and welcoming environment where departments can connect directly with community members throughout the afternoon.

With over 30 years of experience supporting community events, conferences, and trade shows across Northern BC, Central Display is proud to help create spaces where information, ideas, and connections come together.

Some of the most valuable business lessons don’t come from a textbook or a course. They come from talking with other entrepreneurs who have faced similar challenges, solved problems, and gained experience along the way.

Connecting with other business owners can provide new ideas, different perspectives, and practical advice that you may not find anywhere else. Whether it's through networking events, mentorship opportunities, workshops, community gatherings, or informal conversations, there is always something to learn from the experiences of others.

Other entrepreneurs can share insights on topics like marketing, customer service, pricing, business planning, and managing growth. They can also help you avoid common pitfalls by sharing lessons they learned firsthand.

Building connections within the business community is about more than networking. It's about creating relationships, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another's success.

For Indigenous entrepreneurs, learning from peers, mentors, and experienced business owners can be a powerful way to build confidence and strengthen business skills. ABDC is here to help connect entrepreneurs with resources, opportunities, and networks that support ongoing growth and learning.

Training and learning in business don’t have to be expensive. In fact, some of the most valuable skills can be built using free or low-cost resources that fit into your schedule and your budget.

Want to improve your marketing? Spend time exploring free tutorials on social media, photography, or content creation. Looking to get more organized? Free budgeting templates, bookkeeping tools, and business planning resources can help you stay on track. Need support with confidence or decision-making? Mentorship, networking events, and conversations with experienced business owners can offer valuable insight.

You can also build skills by setting small goals. Learn how to take better product photos, improve customer communication, organize your bookkeeping, strengthen time management, or try a new way to promote your business.

The goal isn’t to spend more money. It’s to build confidence, knowledge, and stronger business habits one step at a time.

For Indigenous entrepreneurs, affordable access to training and skill-building can help strengthen businesses and open the door to new opportunities. ABDC is here to help connect you with resources, support, and practical tools to keep moving forward.

Learning doesn’t stop once your business is up and running. In fact, some of the most successful business owners are always learning, adapting, and finding new ways to strengthen what they do.

As part of this month’s focus on training and learning in business, we’ll be exploring how continued growth, skill-building, and education can help support long-term business success.

Customer habits change, technology evolves, trends shift, and new challenges can appear when you least expect them. Staying open to learning can help you make better decisions, solve problems more confidently, and discover new opportunities for growth.

Learning in business doesn’t always mean formal training. It can come from workshops, conversations with other entrepreneurs, mentorship, community events, trying new tools, or simply gaining experience through day-to-day business operations.

Even small steps matter. Learning a new skill, improving a process, or gaining a better understanding of your customers can make a meaningful difference over time.

For Indigenous entrepreneurs, ongoing learning can help build confidence, strengthen business skills, and support long-term success. ABDC is here to provide guidance, resources, and opportunities to help you continue learning and growing along your business journey.

Summer can be a great opportunity to meet customers where they already are. Markets, festivals, community events, pop-ups, and outdoor gatherings can help bring visibility to your business while creating new opportunities to connect.

Depending on your business, “taking it outside” might look different. You could set up at a local market, offer products or services at a community event, partner with another business for a pop-up, or bring mobile services directly to customers. Even small changes, like outdoor signage, event sponsorship, or seasonal displays, can help attract attention during the busy summer months.

Community events can also be a chance to introduce new people to your business, test products, build relationships, and strengthen your local presence without a major investment.

For Indigenous entrepreneurs, summer can create valuable opportunities to increase visibility, connect with community, and grow your business in new ways. ABDC is here to help you explore ideas that work for your goals and your budget.

Summer can be a great time to try simple promotions that help bring in customers without stretching your budget. A successful promotion doesn’t need to be complicated or expensive. Sometimes small ideas can make a big impact.

Consider offering a seasonal special, a limited-time service, or bundling products together at a value price. You might encourage repeat business through referral incentives, offer a summer-themed product or package, or tie promotions to local events, markets, festivals, or community gatherings.

You can also think about small ways to encourage engagement, such as a giveaway, a loyalty incentive, or a “bring a friend” offer that helps introduce new customers to your business.

The key is keeping it manageable and choosing promotions that make sense for your customers, your schedule, and your business goals.

For Indigenous entrepreneurs, thoughtful seasonal promotions can help maintain momentum during slower months and create new opportunities to connect with customers and community. ABDC is here to help you explore practical ideas that support your business growth.
